I am pretty sure that there are reports filed for every mission (evidenced by the paperwork that Tsunade complains about). And Kabuto was/is a spy. I am sure he had men on the inside that had access to those reports.

Except I don't believe Zabuza/Haku was ever mentioned in Kakashi's report. If they were, then the report would have been filed as an A or S ranked mission, which the wave country was unable to afford.

Well, seing how things go lately in the manga anything is possible. Even that Kabutaro has a red eye that, can see and, allows to speak with the deceased so he knows every gossip out there. Paparazzi jutsu or whatever Kishi wants to vomit us now.

Maybe its a new doujutsu that allows Kabutoro to see the world through the eyes of the viewing audience, thus granting him foresight into all of the details that would otherwise have only been familiar to us.
