nice, garp rules
Hahah, everyone is dissing Luffy this week.
Aokiji's abilities look the coolest. I don't get how Whitebeard didn't pierce him if he was using haki, though.

is it possible it was a ruse? Who said about the haki a nameless rand and file marine? Could hav been a ploy by akoiji to get him to drop his guard momentarily, it sure didnt look like he stabbed him through the skin....
It looked to me like Aokiji opened a hole in his chest to allow the spear to pass through, to avoid the blow. Otherwise, I have not idea why he wouldn't have gotten stabbed.
It sounded more like it was haki, but the pirates were wondering if it killed Aokiji, in which he replied with "No!"

I guess it could be either. I'll wait and see how Yibis translates it.
If you go by logic, why wouldn't he have used Haki on that attack?
I theorized in the manga section a while back that he might have possibly disassembled his own ice body before impact thus negating any permanent damage.
Yeah, flood the island Ace is currently standing on with sea stone handcuffs. Brilliant plan...
Because Ace is the only devil fruit user in his crew amirite?
Not to mention i'm sure the 3 admirals would stand idly by while WB tilted the whole motherfucking island.
I'm just saying... your plan doesn't sound very doable.
So where was Jose when the ice melted in the bay?
10/4/04 - 8/20/07
Probably not. But there's a million other things that someone with Whitebeards ability could be doing that he's not.
Oh, a wall of metal plates has risen up and sealed off most of the bay? Great, earthquake the foundations of the wall so the whole thing collapses into the sea.
Oh no, we keep getting individual people almost to Ace but they get knocked down just before they get to the top? Use your damn earthquakes to topped the execution platform.
I'm saying, either Oda is being a bad writer all of a sudden, or Whitebeard is holding back from doing all sorts of things for some reason. Since Oda is hardly ever a bad writer, I'm going to assume it's the latter.
Whitebeard was already dying before the battle, then he got stabbed through the chest. It's reasonable to assume that he's holding back because he only has a little left in him.
As for Jose, he was probably where all the other devil fruit users in Whitebeard's army were.
That said, I do agree that Oda's writing is a bit lacking for the interactions in this battle.
