Talking about expectations, I thought the scene with the ants was going to turn into mini Ika Musume one. Good thing it didn't, because those scenes are best when they're used wisely and unexpectantly.

I'm sure Chizuru at least understood Gorou did his best, even though she might not want to run regularly with him in the future.
To be honest I was never a huge fan of mini-Ika. The first time we saw her had nice novelty but after that I somewhat hoped it would remain the only time.
Guess I'd better stop playing skyrim for an hour and catch up on the latest two eps. In the meanwhile:

I liked mini-Ika, and I'll always welcome more. I think the main issue with that last one was that she was in Gorou's dream... which doesn't really make too much sense.Originally Posted by Kraco

It makes as much sense as the first time that Eiko had the dream. Ika is invading people's dreams, one at a time. Why Gorou dreamt about Eiko (instead of Chizuru) is the question, and it's the same reason that Sanae expressed her distress that the dream didn't have her in it, but had Eiko as well. It's a running gag.
Ultimately, I'm with Kraco. It was nice the first few times, but if they're going to keep doing it ever third episode, it is going to get stale fast.

To be entirely honest, I'm getting bored of Ika Musume. I'll finish this season, but I very much doubt there will be more animated; by any reckoning this show is running out of steam already. But who knows, I'm not enough of a type B to fathom the market deep down.
The only part of this episode I still enjoyed was the self-defense portion.
The meat arc wasn't that funny, but otherwise I enjoyed the other two just like all the rest.
Ika Musume S2 is turning out like K-ON S2 for me. The novelty is being replaced by a weekly, slice-of-life/comedy staple. If I was happy with one, it makes sense that I'm also content with the other.
