The lenghtened arc was indeed good and needed for the final episode. I was expecting an arc where Ika goes back to the ocean, but considering the comedic nature of this show, it would have been strange if she had simply disappeared never to be seen again, leaving all those folks that had grown to like her (despite her foul invader behavior) in sadness. That being said, I didn't expect her to suddenly lose her squid powers without an explanation...
A fine series all in all. One of the best of this soon to be past season. The nonsensical humour suited me well.

CrunchyRoll's translation is a little odd ("Ika-chan" -> "Squiddie" / the unnatural way they're incorporating Ika's squid-speak, etc.), so I'm hoping FFFPeeps won't be too far behind.
Fun episode, good way to get back into things. The first short was a smart way to reintroduce the cast and side characters.

I bet this version is a lot better. Or at least based on Underwater's release, the Crunchy translation was so liberal it clashed with my tastes.
It isn't a matter of taste. It was just plainly badly done.

That episode was pretty much everything that I loved about Ika Musume . Let's hope the gags don't burn out before the season ends, as that's the most likely problem that this will encounter.
