But WTF? Where was the character depth? All of Thor's/Natalie Portman's friends had nothing to do but fill the screen and they looked awkward because they were too much in the foreground to really be ignored. We didn't really get any insight into Natalie's life/purpose other than "I have data!".
You never saw Catwoman, F4-2: Rise of the Silver Surfer, Spiderman 3, or X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Elektra was bad, but...ugh, there is much worse.

As you said, other than Thor being an angry, crabby man-baby in the first half, and then the sum of the story is that he decided to be a little bit of a team player...while still doing most of the work.

Honestly, what I enjoyed the most was Agent Coulson scenes and Hawkeye's nameless cameo. This was the movie where the Coulson role finally became less of a random guy being a little bit of a dick, and he became more of a real person, and an all around likeable guy imo. Also highly recommend the Captain America extra featurette.

What I can't understand was how this movie did better than Captain America, which was a more more cohesive film.

I'm still looking forward to the sequel though, strangely enough.
