Bleh, they added super powers.

Well ofcourse they did, or did you forget what Mortal Kombat is actually about?
This is a different take on the mythos, not canon, it can be about ANYTHING. Notice the lack of super powers on the trailer, episode 1 and 2?

No it can't be about anything, otherwise just call it gritty action show #9845398. But no it's called Mortal Kombat, the battle between good vs evil, the battle of 2 realms; not having anything remotely supernatural would be an insult. So far They've had sonya and jax being cops, jax punching hard, Kano getting the cybernetic implant, moviestar cage doing a split punch...so even if it's "a different take on the mythos" or whatever your justification is, Shan Tsung being anything but sortof supernatural would just be lame and out of place.
Right, i don`t think you got the anything point, what i meant is that they can take several liberties, and no super powers so far, was one of them. And no, it doesn`t has to have supernatural elements, if this series has supernatural elements then put them in, if it`s a realistic take, make it realistic, this supernatural out of nowhere seems like an insecure movie as to no piss off the fanboys.
Episode 1 and 2 had 0 supernatural elements and it was still Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat is a lot of things, super powers was ONE aspect of them.
THIS super power in particular makes no sense and serves no purpose, there was NO point in him freezing time to introduce himself just for shit and giggles (not to mention such a power is overpowered in so many ways), and to make things worse, Tsung can`t even freeze time in the game either.
Again, this.

I may be going against what I said earlier (as Uchessmaster quoted me) but I didn't feel Shang Tsung's freezing of time out of place. There are a lot of sorcery mythos out there that could explain it on this fictional universe without even having to tie it up to the OutWorld.
Personally I liked it like that. About the first two episodes... I don't think we have enough technology for those kind of weapons or Kano's robotic eye. So why can't we try to explain Shang Tsung's entry as something scientific? Heck... if 'their' technology is so advanced to make those weapons and eyes... why not this?
When is Episode 4 due?
Technology and superpowers are 2 different things, Shang Tsung has never, ever had time freezing powers. If time freezing technology was available, you would think the special forces would use it against Kano. Giving Tsung powers, then giving him the wrong powers, then having him using it for no particular reason is a bad idea IMO.

Edenia could be just a region on earth... and even if it IS another realm, you didn`t proved me wrong, what i said was my opinion which still stands and always will.

It's pretty ignorant to believe your opinion can't be wrong; opinion is different from fact ;]. Sure you are entitled to it, sure it may stand and always will, but so will the facts and those too always will ;D.
Anyway she also mentioned "the forces of outworld"...but I guess outworld is just another region of earth as well.
My opinion can`t be wrong because an opinion on a subjective matter can`t be wrong. What i meant by stand is that it won`t change my view on the whole "realistic take on the series that has super powers" angle. I`m aware the facts are that there are super powers. Poor choice of words on my part.
As for Outworld, you just answered your own post, it could be a criminals filled region for all we know. But it won`t matter whether or not that`s true cause of Shang`s leet "time freezing powers lol", can`t wait till Sub-Zero spits acid.

Well I see shang's powers as one of the liberties they have taken with the mythos, we all know that he has soul sucking/shape shifting/fireball shooting powers, but aside from those we don't know anything and he's supposed to be some badass outworld sorceror. Heck perhaps it wasn't some time altering powers, but moreso space altering powers, like some elaborate teleportation....whatever..or perhaps he appeared in his mind... I dunno..
It could be, can`t help but feel time freezing is a liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiittle bit overpowered.

I don't use facebook actually. Thanks for the offer though. I'll have to wait until I go home tonight.
EDIT upon watching:
I didn't like it. I welcomed the use of super powers... but I wanted to deviate from the Outworld, Edenia, Shao Kahn plot.
This also confirms that the mentally unstable doctor that modified himself into Baraka won't be in this series either.
