She obviously has some unsorted family issues (which wouldn't be a surprise considering her old man). So, it wasn't logical speaking by any means, at least beyond a sliver of truth that she suspected by staying there all of their freedom would be taken away - and that freedom had kept them alive whereas most had fallen, so it's a fact. They had gone through a lot so far and survived by their own wits alone so suddenly being treated like nothing but kids would hurt anybody's pride.
I have to say, though, that I did find worrisome the "adults are bad" undertone in this episode. This isn't any Peter Pan but a zombie story so they should keep such irrelevant themes out of the way. Not to mention they are high schoolers already and thus in many ways very close to being adults anyway. Except for the loli, of course.
