The action's scenes filmography is top notch.

I hated flying daggers as wel as tigers and dragons. looked so stupid...
I thought the wire jumps in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragons were horrible. It made them look like they're gliding and shit. The traditional and domestic movies did it much better. It's got nothing to do with the realism of super-jumping or not, but that they were gliding so "gracefully" that the entire tension of a chase was destroyed.Originally Posted by MFauli

It is funny you mention that combined with how much you hope there isn't a second season. The very last shot is of the group approaching a shopping center...I guess so...but I really hoped for an anime-version of Dawn of the Dead
This series was fun. I enjoyed it. It was never really meant to stimulate the brain. It's a zombie anime for couch-zombies. The supersonic boobs was retarded, but the pervasive lawlessness and stark 'reality' that the remaining humans face was compelling. It was an apocalypse, and they treated it as such, topping it off with the nukes.

and forget about animes which went into a different direction because they didn't use manga-material, like FMA/Rozen Maiden etc
That original path for the original FMA is why I didn't read it.
And no, I don't think of Naruto or Bleach. I think of many series which had original paths (based or not based on the original authors ideas) that ended badly because of that.
To name a few that come to mind at the moment...
Mahou Sensei Negima (first series), X Tv, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, Kobato, To Aru Kagaku no Railgun.
I prefer the series to stay un-concluded instead of making original endings or original plots

Volume 7 of the manga actually shipped with the OVA on Blu-ray. That eyecancer version shouldn't even exist. It wasn't even released on DVD.
