Oh my good god, it's hard to even begin to describe how completely off the charts awesome this episode was.
This show is truly amazing.

HOLY SHIT. That is basically all I can say. It looks like they are following the Spartacus story pretty faithfully, all things considered. I won't say more, but the finale should be nuts. I think my favorite line was from Gannicus: "Hold this you fuck. And do not drink it." Also that scene where Illthyia slits Seppia's throat? "Holy Shitsnacks!", as Pam from Archer would say.
I'm a little sad that Sepia is gone. I fancy her grinning face and how she talks with that playful voice. Too bad she's a child and Lucrecia can easily pick her off. One mistake Illthyia has done is revealing the father of her child to Lucrecia. A really bad move imo. Atleast I'm pretty sure next week's episode will be awesome, it will help me get over Sepia's death.
Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.
Sepia was so dumb. She was cute, but she was dumb, just like her brother. The second her gambit with Praetor Varinius failed, she should have been in fear for her life, and she should have prioritized getting out of that house.

Satisfying...oh so satisfying...everyone got what was coming to them it was awesome! And Lucretia...to think this was her goal at the end...that's dedication, commitment. For such a creepy ending, I can almost forgive her for being alive at all. Almost. I can only hope that as despair consumes her fading mind, Illithya's blood trickles out slowly and painfully so that she might know hell before closing her eyes one last time. That was so delicious!
Edit: Shit...I somehow it didn't dawn on me that this was the last episode of the season. I'm sad. Ah well, Game of Thrones on Sunday

Damn, so that was Lucretia's goal all along. That short sequence between the battle and Lucretia was just intense. I have no complain or whatsoever for this season ender. The only sad part is losing Mira and Anemeus. We won't be able to see Mira's hawt ass anymore![]()
And yea GOT!![]()
Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.
Fuck me, that was one hell of a finale!
I can do nothing but applaud and praise the writers and actors of this show, and as skeptical as i first was about Liam being the new Sparty, he has more than proven himself a worthy replacement.
Lookin' forward to next season!

Next season would be interesting, who wil they send next? Will Julius enter the stage now?![]()
Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.
I am really going to miss Oenomaus and Ashur though, they were two of my favorite characters in the show :/

The death of Oenomaus gives off a bitter sweet feeling. he can finally rest and perhaps see his wife. I didn't like how the battle ended between Navia and Ashur. It felt like a cheap win. But yea it is really impossible for her to win againts a gladiator even if Ashur is one of the weakest one. Hell Ashur even defeated roman soldiers 0_o
Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.
Yeah, he was a gladiator and she was far from it, but Asher was both injured and arrogant, while she was trained by Crixus, so things kind of add up. It's not like she bested him, he let his guard down, and it cost him his crotch, and then his head. And yes I'm going to miss Doctore. It feels like he didn't get to do much although I know he was training the rebellion's forces. Now Mira...somehow I didn't care so much. I mean, I didn't hate her character or anything, but her death failed to register emotionally and I'm not sure why that is.
Next season, if there is a next season, they're going to have to bring in almost entirely new "villains" because I think this season wrapped up the story for the season 1 people. Except possibly Illithya...why do I get the feeling she'll be back? /sigh

If Illithya did came back, what purpose would it hold? After all that happened she won't be far from what Lucretia became. Unless she marry another Praetor or a senator. She holds no power now that she lost her heir. Next season I wanna see Spartacus recruiting more rebels. It is around after the last battle that they were able to recruit more and atlast becoming a threat to the republic. I wanna see Rome's legion. Somehow Rome's soldier standard this season has been lowered considerably![]()

Apparently Illythia is indeed dead now and isn't coming back for season 3.
tvline.com had a Q&A with the Executive Producer, here's part of it:
TVLINE | Wait… Ilithyia died too?
Oh, yeah. She’s dead. She is dead.
TVLINE | That was not made clear.
[That's] one thing I regret. If I could go back I would’ve possibly re-shot [her death scene], just so it was clear that she did, in fact, die. We had a couple of different cuts of it where we were tying her death directly, visually into Glaber’s death, which I think was a little clearer. Upon seeing the final product, I’m going to have to explain to people that no, she’s not passed out; she’s dead.
(Link to the full Q&A for those interested)
Warning: Contains massive spoilers if you havent watched the season finale yet.

Yea he was right. It was really not clear if she's dead or not.
Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.
Man, I was actually worried that she wasn't dead, now I'm happy. Thank man. And yes, her not getting killed at the rebel camp turned out to be just what everyone needed. It put Glaber right in Spartacus' jaws, and it allowed Illithya to meet her end by having a baby cut right from her womb sans anethesia; I could not have asked for a better kill.

Three more weeks, then the conclusion to this epic story begins. Here's some insight into Spartacus' opponents this coming season:

First ep of the new(and final) season is out!
Fantastic season opener, full throttle from the get-go :P
Gonna be sad when this show ends, but i've read about a possible Julius Caesar spinoff series, and if it's by the same people who made this i'm sure it will be awesome aswell.

Yea, it was a pretty good episode, and Gannicus had some of the best scenes of the ep. I am liking how they are framing Crassus. It would make sense that someone who thinks like Spartacus would be the one to take him down.
