I just downloaded Kick-Ass last night. I was a big fan of the comic. This movie had its ups and downs. I liked the violence even though the movie wasn't as violent as the comic.

    Spoiler
The Jetpack with machine guns was fucking stupid. I hated that part.

I just saw this movie. It was entertaining but disappointing after all the hype. I'm sure it was purposefully absurd, but I had a hard time viewing it like a regular superhero movie since they were all about how it was real life with real people. Unfortunately they follow up by adding ridiculous and impossible elements which in turn make it hard to like the main character and accept that he's just some dumb kid playing at being a superhero.

The saving graces are the two gorgeous girls they threw in for eye candy and titillation, and Hit Girl was cool.

For God will not permit that we shall know what is to come... those who by some sorcery or by some dream might come to pierce the veil that lies so darkly over all that is before them may serve by just that vision to cause that God should wrench the world from its heading and set it upon another course altogether and then where stands the sorcerer? Where the dreamer and his dream?

I saw last week on Blu-Ray. Music rocked, probably the highlight of the movie.

Aside from that, the reason parents were pissed about this movie was Hit Girl was too sexy? Ok... Did not see any of that in the movie. Her attitude owned though when she killed lol.

Super Heroes who kill, can't get much better than that. In the beginning he was saving one guy and not killing, but by the end, he kills the main bad guy with a Bazooka, total ownage. Taken all the bad guy elements and gave them to the good guys, the way a Super hero should be. IN my opinion anyway,

Looking forward to Kick-Ass 2. I hope they keep the same rock music for the fight scenes.

That's my kind of hero too, but unfortunately that behavior makes them only slightly more heroic than the guys they are stopping. When fighting evil, you have to be careful not to be evil yourself. It's one of the drawbacks of being a hero.

I thought the sex scene behind the coffee shop was enjoyable but a bit much for kids who might be watching the movie. I didn't see sexiness in Hit Girl, though some scenes were over the top like when the boss guy is beating on her. Some sexual undertones but nothing overt.

The music was good and very appropriate for the movie.
