    Manga: Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru

    Here's a manga I've been reading recently just for a bit of entertaiment. It can be quite funny at times, chapter 3 really had me laughing, and it has quite a bit of very violent action. Nothing great, but looks good enough to pass the time.

    The plot could use some work, but it's improving bit by bit.

    Just noticed that the series is at the moment at volume 38. Four volumes have been released so far.

    Kohinata Minoru is a college student at a college that is popular for its sports rather than academic orientation. Although he starts out as a gymnast alongside his friend, Nana, Minoru is bullied by the higher ranked gymnasts. One evening, a karate student at the college, Mutou Ryuuji, witnesses Minoru being bullied and comes to the rescue... but his intentions aren't to save Minoru, but to drag him into the world of karate. Minoru makes new friends and learns some of their dark pasts, including a shocking death that reveals motives for revenge.

    I just began reading it

    It's not anything i haven't seen before but it's entertaining enough to keep me interested with some good humor and great fighting scenes.

    Recently i've been a little annoyed by how they're focusing on the side characters while ignoring the protagonist but with the tournament coming up that should soon change

    The chapter where they tested for their belts and the other idiot was shitting himself was pure comedy gold. I mistyped the chapter number in the post above, so I don't remember the correct number, but that has to be my favorite chapter.

    Yeah i had a good laugh out of that one too

    In other news, did you also find it strange how they sort of let go of that whole "raping dudes in the ass" business just because he joined the club?

    Maybe the author thinks it's ok because it was gay buttsecks? O_o

    Well I suggest you read all that's out of volume 5... particularly the last couple of chapters.

    Laughed my ass off at the last page, i wonder if the author has something against Brazilians

    It was good to see Karate Kid powering up but having the loser stop being a loser is gonna suck ( yeah I've got to start memorizing these guys names... )

    Anyway I'm happy where this is going, i'm a sucker for shonen fighting tournaments

    Yeah, I like those too. The volume didn't have much on it, but it had it's funny moments, and I like the blonde high school chick, I wonder if she'll become more prominent in the future. My favorite was when Mutou was fighting the old guy.

    Anyways, some funny moments in there, and the last page was hilarious. I very much doubt the kid is there though.

    Also, I have no idea what the names of the characters are either.

    I wouldn't count on it, she seems to be developing some mild romantic interest in the dunce and we all know that the loser never gets the girl

    She might appear occasionally but i don't think she'll be very prominent in future arcs. I predict her getting back to Karate, getting over Mutou and kissing the loser in the cheek before fading away.

    Sounds about right, but I can see her going to attend the University where all these guys are at, so maybe she'll make a comeback at some point. But I agree with all your other points in the scenario.

    Dang, those first pages were hella disgusting, but luckily him getting caught and then ran over made up for that

    An ugly loser with a high sensitivity for danger...



    He's nowhere near as awesome as Kuwabara though

    And finally seems like Skeletor is back. I hope Minoru gets to kick some underground ass while they wait for what's his face to arrive

    Me neither, just a mid boss level dude strong enough to surprise everyone else there expecting him to get his ass kicked

    I wouldn't mind if Mutou was the one to get there instead of the American dude either

    Same, but I'm still a bit interested in seeing the American dude fight, particularly after claims that he used to be some sort of "beast" and delinquent, so I want to see if he degenerates to that mental level during a fight.

    As expected, Minuro kicked ass

    I think Skeletor's design gets more amusing every chapter, i'm not quite sure if he has any epidermic left

    Yeah, is he decomposing before our very eyes? Loved the Pedro counter, and Minuro certainly kicked ass without all the crap that usually gets thrown in the middle. He dominated from start to finish.
