    Manga: Q and A

Mitsuru Adachi manga that started last summer. If not mistaken, it's a monthly manga so don't expect frequent releases, though the chapters themselves have about 30+ pages.

It's a track & field manga, which I haven't read from Adachi before. Mostly read boxing and baseball from him.

Story is about a family that returns to their former home, years after their eldest son died. The younger brother starts seeing his ghost, and the story ensues from there.

Nine chapters in, and not much has happened... so I don't know yet where this is going. He seems to be focusing a bit more in the comedy aspect of the story at the moment. I'll say this also... Adachi is obsessed with panty jokes.

    Who's reading?

    Being released by Mangadownloads:

Atsushi Ando (15) moves back to his home town with his family after 6 years. The story focuses on the fortunes and misfortunes he encounters in this town mostly due to pranks pulled by the ghost of his older brother, Hitsushi Ando aka. Q-Chan, whose death prompted the family to move away in the first place. The catch is, that only Atsushi can see his brother's ghost.

I read the first two chapters back when they first got released. It was funny, but it didn't catch my eye like other Adachi stories. Ironically, I put it aside to read old Adachi tales like Miyuki, H2, Katsu or even Touch.

I'm also reading this, but I agree with Zell here. The series isn't nearly as good as Adachi's other works like Cross Game and H2.

I think the main detraction is the storyline - Adachi has kept all his other series more or less set reasonably within reality, and in this instance the ghost isn't just some hallucination / dementia thing. I think this is more of a personal preference though, since I never did like the ghost/supernatural genre much.

I don't think the problem is the ghost, though I myself don't like him. I think the problem has been with the plot advancement so far... nothing has really happened after 9 months (9 chapters). None of the characters have had any good interaction either... in all nothing has happened to the point that we really don't know what this manga will be about; the goals, etc.

I agree. If I didn't know Adachi as well as I do from his other works, I would not even be sure that this will be a sports manga eventually. I am not even 100% sure now, with everything going on. The relationship between the main couple has not developed at all, and does not really have a strong background. This will probably change as it goes along, but it really is taking too much time.

    Here's chapter 10:

Boring chapter... this manga is just bad. I don't know how Adachi could've recently made that Cross Game masterpiece just to make this crap right after. Here's to wishing for a new weekly series soon.

I really have no motivation to read this. I prefer reading an older work or his I haven't read.
