Well, NBC confirmed Conan's release today and he will be free to pursue other opportunities after September 10th. Leno makes his return to the Tonight Show on March 1st.

Sad to see it end like this for Conan.

Edit: It seems that him and his team got a $45 million settlement.

Yeah, Conan will receive about 33 million... maybe a bit less if he gives more from that to his staff.

But Conan has been killing Letterman and Leno in the ratings this past week or two... great to see him going on top. His monologues have been top notch.

Conan's last show killed everyone else in the ratings and even gave a big lift to Fallon.

"Not surprisingly, the last edition of The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien was a ratings magnet for the ailing NBC. The comedian, who talked about how he “did it my way” and did not “regret a second,” earned a whopping 7.0 rating/16 share in 55 of the country’s metered markets (the most immediate numbers available).

Ratings for his fellow late night hosts didn’t even come close: The Late Show with David Letterman averaged a mere 2.5/5, while Nightline earned a 2.8/6, and Jimmy Kimmel Live, a 1.3/4. Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, however, was able to draft off of O’Brien’s success: his show averaged a respectable 3.3/10, easily beating Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson (1.5/4). Final ratings for last night are due Jan. 28."

It's really awesome to know how big of a following he really does have. I absolutely loved what he did last night. It was tasteful, inspiring and only reinforced the reason why I adore Conan O'Brien. I am definitely looking forward to when he comes back to television.

    LONG LIVE COCO!

Hah, I didn't even see Beck all the way over on the right when I watched it the first time. I saw Billy Gibbons from ZZ Top and figured he was the only musical guest.

Ben Harper was also there, playing slide guitar on his lap. Really cool.

It's kind of sad to hear the Rosie O'Donnell clip of her interview on the Howard Stern show. It seems like a lot of comedians are fucking pissed at Jay and rightfully so.

As crappy as Conan was treated, I think it is pretty sad that there was a protest in Chicago over that situation, but there are rarely protests about things that actually matter. It kind of makes me lose a little bit of hope in society.

It's less that they don't exist, but rather that they don't get news coverage. Coverage of protests are politically motivated, so certain things (for example, Fox's coverage of the Tea Party protests) will get more attention while others are completely ignored.

Conan O'Brien takes late night show to TBS

Weeknights at 11pm starting this November. It's only going to air Mondays-Thursdays.

Edit: TBS is already promoting the move after the signing today.

Kind of sucks that it's not Monday-Friday, but 4 days of Conan is better than nothing. I'm just glad he's going to be coming back.
