His ultimate does use a lot of mana but i found that having the team help you get blue buff or having an Archangel staff help toward that cost quite a bit.

In a team fight you shouldn't be in a position to where it's required to have your ultimate up for the entire duration to say alive. I usually throw a DOT, Root the carries, laserbird someone for dmg then pop ultimate and back off a bit. He's one of the those champion that requires your team to be competent because 2 of his abilities are CC effects. I won't complain about his AP being buff, but i find that it's not too difficult to get kills even in ranked games so that just might lead to more OP crying.

I don't think the healing on his ult should be increase, what they should do is increase the base damage and lower the heal percentage to keep it around the same level.

His E giving teamate half the amount of % damage increase that swain gets would be nice though.
