That's a generic error. Try posting the details of it on the click here link you get.
The video file may be corrupt though.
Usually with corrupt videos, my computer just doesn't play them.Originally Posted by RyougaZell
Windows media player will skip the file, highlighting it in orange with the (!) mark next to it.
MPC will say something like "Unable to render file".
Carnage, does Microsoft suggest anything when/if you send the error report? Sometimes they give you useful feedback, even if it's just "X caused the error. A newer version of X is available. Try updating X."
I guess the easiest way to see what the problem is is to play the file on another computer. If it works, the file (by itself) isn't the problem, and the fault lies in the first computer, or certain circumstances on the first computer.
Update CCCP?
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
libavcodec is a library used by ffdshow I think.
in MPC, could you try MPC internal decoder?
It does that with all players because ffdshow is set as prefered filter no matter what.
If you do not care about having ffdshow decoding everything, because it's more convenient too, then try updating ffdshow
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
Holy shit, I tried your advice and updated ffdshow and it worked! Thanks a shitload everyone! I appreciate all the help!
