    Movie: Sherlock Holmes

hey I didn't see a thread for this. but I just watched it, so I made a thread

    trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Egcx63-FfTE
    imdb page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0988045/

Well, considering two of my favorite anime characters are Lupin III and Detective Conan, and the only American TV I watch (well, care about watching) is House, I thought this was an awesome movie.

I really enjoyed pretty much everything about this movie. I just love the character really.. and any scene involving his deductive skills was just awesome for me.

I saw the trailer for this the other day when I went to watch Ninja Assassin, and it really looks like a very cool movie. Hopefully I'll go watch it in the coming weeks. I need to go watch Avatar first, which I plan on doing either today or tomorrow.

I loved the trailer and I'm a fan of both Robert Downey JR and Guy Ritchie, so i will most likely love this movie as well.

This was much better than I expected. I went in thinking it would be purely a 19th century themed action movie with a character that is only recognizable by name. Instead I got a witty, well written and well acted production that keeps on surprising the viewer with visual splendor and substantial plot that makes sure you're on the edge of your seat (albeit slightly predictable).

I also previously was scornful of RDJr trying to be two major characters at once (Iron Man / Sherlock Holmes) but he's done magnificently and really pulled it off. Maybe he's the flavor of the month but I'm really liking him in everything he does.

How good was that explosion scene! And the predetermined fight choreography. Great stuff.

that planning out the fight thing was brilliant. I was really hoping they'd do that for the ending fight.

I really liked the fight scenes too where he broke down what he was going to do... I thought alot of the dialogue was good between Holmes and Watson.

I liked the movie. I wasn't really emotionally attached to the charactors as I was in Avatar, but I thought it was a good movie.

Watched the movie a couple of nights ago, and I thought it was a ton of fun. Overall, I thought it would be better, but a good movie still. As mentioned, I loved the fight scenes too... and I think that it was to the detriment of the movie that just about all the action was concentrated in the first half of the movie.

Anyways, they're already planning for a sequel:

Guy Ritchie was supposed to be working on Lobo, but it looks like he will forgo that to concentrate on Holmes.

It's a shame that the movie isn't getting the attention it might've had otherwise with Avatar around.

I thought this movie was really well done. I went to go see it with my co-workers, and everyone enjoyed it. I also couldn't help but be reminded of this xkcd comic when I watched it...
