    Bleach 250

edited to right episode. (thanks Harima Kenji) iono wtf happened.
This episode was pretty meh, until the end. I was getting more and more frustrated with Kouga not getting the point that Kuchiki was trying to impart, but at the end he seemed to finally get it. I guess a few hundred years on ice will do that. Good for him, though I can't profess any excitement about next weeks episode.
Edit: I will add, the back story was kinda cool.

When man invented the bicycle he reached the peak of his attainments. Here was a machine of precision and balance for the convenience of man. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man's convenience) the more he used it, the fitter his body became. Here, for once, was a product of man's brain that was entirely beneficial to those who used it, and of no harm or irritation to others. Progress should have stopped when man invented the bicycle. ~Elizabeth West, Hovel in theHills

Although I'm always blaming the old geezer commander for jumping the gun and falling for the simplest of plots, I have to admit he has done remarkably well in developing the SS from the miserable state it was in this flashback to the current form. Judging by what we saw in this flashback, pretty much any of the current lieutenants could have single-handedly terminated that old rebellion. It looked like none of the rebels had even discovered their shikai.

What made me really happy, though, is that Muramasa's 100% reflection was of no use when his master surprise stabbed him. Serves him right!

Byakuya should soon appear to blame Kouga for sullying his clan's name.

    Good backstory.

Totally believable within the pre-established knowledge that Soul Society has the stupidest justice system in history.

I understand why they show black shadowy figures as the generic zampakutou, but it looks hilarious. What a way to go out. Your own shadow. hehehe

Those shadowy figures reminded me of the boogeymen from Toejam & Earl. BOOGY BOOGY BOOGY BOOGY.
