This arc <i>was</i> getting pretty exciting but they seem to have gone back to ye olde many battles wasting time paradigm. Darn

Just finished watching. The Ikkaku fight ended up being a lot better than I thought. So yeah, is there gonna be a filler episode for each of the characters? This could take a while. And we saw a glimpse of Zaraki. Was that just a tease, or is there more to it? Could it be a foreshadowing of some kind that he's gonna show up at some point?

Episode was okay. Ikkaku didn't really have any kind of epiphany. Just all of a sudden he could use his shikai again.
And that's probably all we'll see of Zaraki on this ark

Which doesn't make sense, because we've seen that guy release his Shikai before and it looks like a rapier. Which this zanpaktou looks like some kind of javelin.

Jesus, this new opening is awful!
Yeah, it's not too impressive, even though you can hear it's by Porno Graffiti. But I suppose even they can't succeed every time. It's missing some of the beat and energy I normally expect from them.
I wonder what, if any, significance the last picture of the OP had; that was quite a mixed bunch of characters, including Ichigo's human friends left behind in the corporeal world as well as Kenpachi and Yachiru.
Got around to watching this episode. It was pretty underwhelming for a bit when Ikkaku (like Darth said) could just use his Shikai again, but it was fine for the most part.
