Yano is definitely my favorite character behind Sawako. The evil grins while she was playing with Ryu were priceless. She's the mastermind in that circle of friends.
That ep was glittering a little too much to my taste, but was very soothing, probably for a little more difficult stories to come.
I really like Sawako portraits with little touches of pink and a smile.

A great episode. Even Sawako's density is slowly relenting under all the doki doki moments. I wonder how long it will take for her to recognize it as love or if Yano and Yoshida get bored of watching it and tell her what it's all about. Even Kurumi should know it now after seeing Kazehaya staring out of the window at Sawako so intensively with such caring expressions no less.
I don't know about anyone else, but I find the shape of Sawako's eyes to be irresistible. That alone makes her look so much better than anyone else, even if she's actually supposed to be somewhat plain looking.
There hasn't been any of those cliche shoujo scenes where an antagonist is around a corner making some nasty comment about how Sawako will totally get hers for stealing Kazehaya (thankfully), but it is pretty obvious that Kurumi is playing games. She hides around corners and calls other girls idiots, but hasn't made any particularly glaring looks at Sawako. Even in this episode, her expression didn't really change, she just intensely looked at the two. She denies and denies that she likes Kazehaya, but she has most of the other girls in the school saying that she and Kazehaya naturally fit together. So even if all these girls who attacked Sawako have some kind of pact, Kurumi seems to be the one that all the girls would accept, through whatever it is that she's done.
Yano and Chizu picking on Sawako to call everyone by their first names was a treat too.
Like it? Squeaky clean for anyone who wants it as a wallpaper, i know i do.
And i agree Ryu, one of the things that attracts me to Kimi is the way the art doesn't follow the textbook shoujo art style
Has anyone else noticed how Kurumi seems to be the anti - Sawako? She looks so warm to others on the outside and yet she's (apparently) such a conniving bitch

The budget on Kimi must be something ridiculous because this is looking hella good
The way those 2 interact with each other is just too cute, id's expect it from Sawako but who knew that Kazehaya could be so inept with these things too
Kurumi has a future in acting, this episode made it hard to hate her even though i know that it's all bullshit
yeah really. and it's pretty much the only fall series still looking sharp :\Originally Posted by Archangel

I hope Kurumi isn't planning to first become Sawako's good friend, then telling her she loves Kazehaya and asking Sawako to support her, thus reducing Sawako's own efforts as she couldn't possibly backstab Kurumi, whom she should be supporting.
But in the end no matter what Kurumi does, it won't change the fact Kazehaya already loves Sawako. So, Kurumi's greatest achievement wouldn't ever be more than to keep those two apart.
Wow... that would be brilliant. Evil, but brilliant.Originally Posted by Kraco

Yano and Chizu obviously recognize it, and Yano particularly exploits it for her own amusement. So if someone asked her, and Sawako still hadn't realized what Kazehaya actually means to her, she quite possibly might help them, hurting herself in the process like she did before. Totally because she doesn't know any better, having been so isolated for so long.Originally Posted by Archangel
As for Kurumi, I think she already has done something above the average high school bitch. Whether or not she actually did it, it has been heavily implied that she was the one who originated the rumors. So either she has absolute control over the other girls, or she thought ahead and quietly and politely started all the rumors about Sawako and Yano (Chizu's turned out to all be true) without ever implicating herself. I think it would be the latter since she seems to have a lot of the girls suggesting that she would be the perfect fit for Kazehaya despite them all having some form of agreement. Any plans she has made are anything but overt.
Unlike a lot of the other cliche female antagonists in shoujo series, Kurumi really seems to plan ahead, far ahead. That puts her well above the average high school bitch.
Kurumi said "She reminds me of a doll with hair that grows." I'm assuming she meant something along the lines of a chia pet? Or is there another type of insult that was lost in translation?
I didn't quite get this part eitherOriginally Posted by animus
Regarding the doll with hair that grows, even without a precise translation, it was possible to understand it's not a compliment...
First Kurumi thinks that to herself while she moves out of the scene, you could think of a contrast between what she thinks, and what Sawako thinks. Remember that from the begining of the show, Sawako almost always thinks the opposite of what reality is like regarding her relationships.
Then Yano and Chizu immediately thought what girls would usually think regarding Sawako.
And I think the very long hair doll has been shown at least 3 times.
Then there was a subtle pun in the Sawako changes her hair scene, with how her hair is in three simple parts with a funny animation.
I laughed hard at the begining of that "Hair sequence" I admit.
So yes, Kurumi wasn't thinking something really positive as a doll for Sawako.

I believe the "doll with hair that grows" is some classic Japanese horror story about a possessed coming of age doll. Or at least something similar to that. Maybe the doll in the story isn't as specific as that. It's definitely a horror story.
lol so many awesome lines in this ep.
"goodbye curly hair"
"the tension is leaving my body!"
great ep. this series is just so good

If I had to guess I'd say that's what's going to happen considering the title of the next episode. Though it could always be something completely different.Originally Posted by Kraco
