Are you serious? What was the giant flower? How did they get the big metal things to stop? wut?

It's the ELS' way of saying:

-"Oh, assimilating things is bad? Let's tell them we're sorry."
-"But we can't communicate with them!"
-"Then let's tell that guy who can we communicate with we're sorry."
-"Umm... he just left."
-"Then what are we supposed to do?!"
-"Hey, when we read that guy's mind, there's this soft radial yellow thing-y that keeps popping out. It seems that, to him this, this is the symbol for peace."
-"Let's use that shape!"
*ELS Mothership transforms to a giant space flower*
-"This looks gay... Oh wait it's working!"

And they lived happily ever after... The End.

I really don't get why some people can't get the purpose of the giant space flower. Sure, it looks stupid but it made sense.
