This episode was a vast improvement. Cecily admitted that she can't fight for shit at least twice, and declared herself absolutely helpless in front of Luke in probably one of the most formal ways she could. Admitting you have a problem is the first step.
That said, how can she have practiced from an early age and still have such bad form? Someone really needs to teach her to use a rapier, since she obviously going to be using Aria on a regular basis. The way she's practicing with a long sword to use a kanata is going to hurt her in the end. Can't she see that Luke's high mobility combat and her fighting style are completely incompatible? She's straight forward, uses slashes and thrusts, and is very accurate with her motions despite her generalize ineptitude. Hopefully she will give up on the katana idea in the next episode or two.
I'm also not real happy that she switched over to "no killing" to "killing to protect" so easily. With how fervent she was about it last episode, I would have assumed she would be a little bit more torn about it. Luckily, she kept admitting she can't fight for shit, and I guess that gave her the determination to do what she had to in order to fulfill her ideals of being a protector.
Another thing, it's pretty obvious that Kira Yamato is Cecily's descendant. A bunch of guys get burned to ash inches in front of her, and Cecily is largely unharmed. Evil guy throws fire, it lands next to her in small sputtering fires instead of instantly engulfing her like the other knights.
Despite the Gundam dodge skills and that she probably still can't outfight a cow without Aria, Cecily admitting she is terrible and helpless was enough to make me continue on with this series for now. Aria, Lisa, and Luke are reason enough. Cecily is just that annoying best friend character that every series has.
I'm just going to take this series as seriously as I do Kampfer and I'll probably still enjoy it.
