Finally caught up until episode 29 (Ryugan). Despite the silly magic runes... I don't see the problem with the series. I enjoy it and that is what matters.

I love Levy, Lisanna, Erza and Juvia in that order btw.

Though luck my two favs either don't have much screen time or is dead.

I felt like this was a fine episode. That's more than I'm usually willing to say about Fairy Tail eps. Of course it was using pretty thickly traditional plot elements but they worked well enough so it would be unfair to blame the episode for it. Quite emotional, all in all.

It also showed, once again, how Erza totally belongs to the same group of trouble with Natsu and Gray, despite always trying to appear better than those two back at the guild.

Loke being a spirit totally had me.

And as for his crime, I would have thought it was some form of forbidden love between a spirit and a human or something, but then Taurus would have been banished long ago, unless you are instead forbidden to perform certain acts.

I can't deny anymore now. Lucy really does dress "scandalously" (since a better word doesn't come to mind).

I'm not generally speaking a less is better type of an evaluator but I admit her choice of clothing is quite nice to watch.

Loke being a spirit, i really did not see that coming.

And that theater play they performed, that shit was fucking hilarious , totally reminded me of some theater antics they did in an episode of 'Inuyasha' were they called him "Hannabart Pekopon" or something (wtf is that a name or a thing?)

That king was certainly easily talked into submission. But it was a dodgy case in the first place so no wonder. Lucy's collection of spirits is growing huge. Although most of them aren't really any good for major fights and some that are have other troubles like the water spirit that hates getting summoned and is so tyrannical it almost makes her more trouble than worth.

Well... actually Lucy has 6 of the 12 Golden Keys... so that should place here very high on the mage scale... half of the most powerful Stellar Spirits have a contract with her. She only needs to use them better.

Or somehow learn to instant summon/change etc.

Unless she has enough power to constantly sustain them all in battle, she should try to swap them in faster.

Leo seems to be plenty though.

One of the better arcs launches here. Juvia finally stepped out of the shadows as well and immediately displays the funny jealousy Lucy will have to get used to now that Juvia's not anymore only commenting things from the background, out of sight for everybody. I like the interaction between her and Lucy (and Gray, obviously). Things should get better from now on.

This episode proves once again, that Erza is the Nee-san of this show, in more ways than one.

It's a real pity she prefers armour.

Decent episode, i'm liking Juvia more and more

This episode was largely Juvia fanservice, for sure. Though the end was of course claimed by the history lesson. The series is also built so, it seems, that whenever Erza is present, she will easily overshadow any other ladies. Not that I'm comlaining since it makes good scenes. Even if it silences even Juvia.

Not much to say about this episode otherwise because all the fights were nonconsequential. Things only start to roll when they need to face those Erza's former friends again.
