HorribleSubs - Episode 04
edit: and out of tradition, the SD version.
Was this week's episode just neglected, or was everyone just waiting for a different group?

If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
The best part of this episode was the confirmation (?) that we will get Erza to appear in the next episode. She didn't yet say anything so I'm looking forward to hearing the VA's performance.
It still bothers me how much they force those symbolic elements in Natsu's attacks. Why can't he punch anybody without strange power-up scenes and a dragon flying behind him? If they are dead set on using such effects, they should have saved them for really extraordinary moments. The director of this series must be a n00b or something.
I dunno, but personally i just don't care anymoreOriginally Posted by Buffalobiian
My god what a marvelous anime. Funny, supernatural and kinda gives me the feeling of a disney type cartoon for some reason.
Dont see it as a development series but more of an entertaining one.
Officially joining the fan club

Man, I thought this series would be more serious/dark. It's nothing but comedy. Not saying the anime sucks. I actually like it. Just not what I expected.
That's mainly the reason I'm not liking this anime as much as I want to.Originally Posted by Logrus
All those special attack sequences and summonings makes me think I'm watching Digimon.

RAVE started out like this too. Light hearted on the outside, but as the series went on it hit on darker material. Same pattern Hunter x Hunter, Naruto and Bleach followed as well. It's fairly standard in the shonen genre.Originally Posted by Idealistic
I can't say the same for the anime as it continues, but Fairy Tail has touched on darker subjects already, like with the enslavement of an author by Everlue, alluding to the wealthy abusing their power when they can. Same goes for the slaver in the first episode. There are clearly wizards that abuse their power. The anime has cut some of the harshest material already (as Archie pointed out) since I think they are going for a larger (incl. younger) audience, but I'd give it time.
Btw does anyone know wich day of the week this show gets released?
A good episode, pretty much frame for frame with the manga.
Erza is awesome. Her punching Natsu in the stomach on the train so he can "rest" is one of my favorite parts. Not too much to discuss though, since it was basically a set up episode for what I expect will be a lot of fighting the next few episodes.
I did notice that Erza's basic armor is different. They use the basic armor she wears in the current chapters, rather than the more simplistic armor she actually wore, as seen on the cover to Volume 3 (spoiler free).
Not entirely sure on what happend in this episode but one thin i got was that they at least have a main enemy now
Liked how Erza numbs everyone just by her presence hahahaha.
@Ryllharu: haha Yeah the punch in the train was awsome. One more thing that makes this show great is if your stoned out and watch in
Did RAVE get any better though? It was pretty cool actually, but holy shit the animation was terrible.Originally Posted by Ryllharu
The anime ended early in the story so i couldn't really judge the quality, but i actually like the manga quite a bit.Originally Posted by Idealistic
Erza was good. Not really much else to say yet about this arc.

Omg Erza owns. She needs a spinoff or they need more magic knight girl animes. lol.
That busty armour is sexy. She so much better than the incompetent Lucy.
I find the humour to be misplaced in this anime at times. Maybe they're going for the completely random-laughs effect, but there's good and bad ways to pull that off as well (such as FMA:2009 for example).
I did like Master's reaction to Mirajane's "good news" though.
