Yay, the return of HorribleSubs.
Taka's good, but HorribleSubs are watchable so I'm often not inclined to redownload a Taka version if I have a HS version already.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
I still find this is abit underwhelming.. i'm just waiting for Tobi to show what skills hes got.

overall it was a good episode, besides when they replayed the entire deidara vs itachi scene.. that seemed to really drag this second time through...

yeah that was a bit much. they could have just showed a few seconds where he almost blew himself up from the genjutsu if anything.
Yeah, that part was the whole point of the flashback.
Nice episode as a whole. I just really hope they give a plausable explanation to how Sasuke is going to get him out of this mess, cuz he's not going to die here, let's face it .
Hopefully Deidara will really die this time. I won't forgive it if he dug himself again or something. Suicide attacks have that name for a reason.
Definitely a cool fight. Very strategic.
I thought it was interesting that Diedara could simple become immune to sharingan genjutsu through practice.
To bad he didn't find a way to make his bombs immune to the sharingans chakra reading. Maybe if he lives through this, next time.
Akatsuki would have had this battle easily sewn up if Tobi wasn't completely useless.
You think he died in the explosion? I doubt an akatsuki will ever die without having at least one fight to showcase his abilities, though you could say Tobi helped Deidara fighting Sasuke by planting the bombs, but that’s not nearly enough. Oh, and he also somehow survived a slash from Sasuke’s sword, I don’t think this will go away unexplained.Originally Posted by DarthEnder
No, I know he didn't die, I'm saying if he had done ANYTHING useful in that fight, like, I dunno, walked up and stabbed Sasuke when both he and Diedara were exhasted and out of chakra, then the fight would have gone in Diedara's favor.
Oh, also, I know nothing in this show has any basis on reality, but using a bunch of snakes as a substitute for a missing wing somehow strained credulity. They weren't even, like, webbed. It's like trying to fly with some sticks.
I liked this fight. People actually use their brains.
I wonder how Deidara "trained" to become resistant to the Sharingan genjutsu. It's not like Itachi would have private lesson with him or anything.
"Sorry Tobi" was the most powerful part of the episode for me. Two words tell you perfectly how Deidara felt about Tobi.

I reckon Tobi didn't do much in this fight for the simple reason that this fight wasn't by any means an official Akatsuki mission. It was about Deidera wanting to kill Sasuke for his own reasons. Under such circumstances, what good would it have done anybody if Tobi had interfered more than the meager assistance he provided by planting the mines? If he had done any more, it would have been like a witness suddenly shooting one of duelists. Sure, the other one would have remained alive but not as a victor.
We have certainly seen so far that Akatsuki members are highly individualistic, not any robotic slaves of an overlord, so I think Tobi's role in this bout went quite according to the expectations.
Though I have to say I wanted to see Tobi's special skills nonetheless...
Well, as stated at the meeting, Akatsuki is pretty sure that Sasuke means to assassinate Itachi. That alone should be reason enough for any Akatsuki member to kill him.Originally Posted by Kraco
But then, Akatsuki seems like the kind of organization where they take it as good news when they hear one of their members has died.
Tobi wasn’t close to Sasuke’s and Deidara’s location when both fell to the ground because he had to escape the C4 mini-bombs, he got away from that zone when Deidara told him to run, maybe he’s going to arrive the location in the next episode to check things out.
You could say Tobi is as useful as Sakura (before the Sasori fight) for now.
Liked the episode, like the path the animators are going. Fast paced episodes with minimal fillers, that's the way it should be.
If you'd think about it, a ninja using a suicide attack as a final desperate move isn't that good to begin with.

Tobi floored the Three Tails. He's infinitely more useful than Sakura.Originally Posted by ASSpirine

Knowing the nature of Deidara's attack, and not knowing the nature of the sharingan, it's normal to assume whoever didn't start running would die.
That is, of course, if you don't assume Tobi is Obito, which hasn't been confirmed yet.

When did he (or Deidara) did that? Really can't recall...Originally Posted by Buffalobiian

At least I think there's a reason for Tobi to wear a mask:Originally Posted by ASSpirine

Well, both points apply to Obito. Also, their names are very similar. This makes me suspicious, however - it feels more like a red herring than clue. And personally I wouldn't want Obito to be alive.
if he wants to hide his eyes, why cover just one? >_>
