Manga: Saru Lock

Here's another series I've been reading recently, and I have to say it's quite awesome. It's hilarious. Fans of GTO and Golden Boy should surely enjoy this. Clearly intended for a mature audience, so you can tell what type of jokes will be in it. There's quite a bit of nakedness, so beware for those that find that offensive, and for those who not... enjoy.

But really, this series has some good comedy and I think the art is quite good. I don't think you guys will be disapointed.

Yataro Sarumaru, nicknamed Saru, is an ace in the locksmith trade and is obsessed with girls. This (almost) average teenager is given a hardly ordinary mission which marks the beginning of his adventures!

Whoa... I'm only reading chapter 2, but I already have to say this is one crazy manga. I wonder how long it can keep up this kind of intensity, though.

Crazy indeed... but well the manga has 20 volumes out and ongoing, so we'll see. And reading through the comments, the series apparently gets better, so it seems safe to say that they can keep it up.

But yeah, the series suprised me... caught me off guard.

Hmm... I noticed the scanlator only releases a chapter in a month. It's going to be a long road till 20 volumes.

In any case, after the 28 chapters out now, I can only say I hope Saru won't go unrewarded forever. It's kind of pitiful how he tries his best for people he cares about (and he seems to care easily), and then gets no reward whatsoever in return. Such a thing will get highly annoying if it's repeated long enough. Of course due to his uber perverted ways he no doubt deserves occasional setbacks but enough is enough.

Well, it'll be quite dificult for him to get rewarded (sex wise) since that's a huge portion of the comedy... but I can see something developing between him and Ritsuko as the series goes along.

too early to say about his ongoing lack of sex-life, my guess is that volume 8 will be the critical point, if he doesn't get laid until then, he won't get laid ever.

nice series, the characters are a bit hard to differentiate (especially the drug-master arc), but it's fun non-the-less. My favorite story was the one with the cop-whore-hotel safe. and then the sports club arc, both of which involved actual proficiency in the trade, rather than simply running around.

Today, we're releasing Saru Lock 29 (!Saru29) which concludes volume 3. We're now starting the epic volume 4, which includes a lot of great moments, and a few epic doubles. (Need Editors.)

Edit: Funny chapter, but now we have to wait for the next volume for the rest of the arc.

Just caught up to the latest released, you guys still reading? Funny stuff as always, the hospital arc was hilarious.

We're currently on chapter 47 scanlation wise. I hope the new scanlators are faster than the ones before it.

I'm reading it. It certainly comical and awesome, you can't help but laugh. The releases are slow as hell so it's hard to remain excited but certainly worth reading and keeping up with.
