Blackbeard only wanted Luffy cause of his bounty...which he only wanted to acquire fame for his schichibukai status. There's no reason for him to still pursue Luffy. I do kinda like DBZ's suggestion, though. Maybe he wanted to be able to speak with Jimbei? Obviously Blackbeard had bigger plans than to just be a schichibukai.

i thought one of the shichibukai would show up at impel down. It was just too big to ignore. I was expecting don flamingo though if anybody. This manga is soo great i love not being able to predict all the happenings. ~sigh~ i hope you're taking notes kishi.
Damn so how are the next fights gonna play out!? Who will fight who? Any of the possibilities at this point will be sick. If Blackbeard recruit Shiryuu it would be amazing, though Oda would have to get creative on how he'd have the Marines let Blackbeard take a deathrow prisoner under his wing, but I don't doubt that he could pull it off.
