Lol, so the government is interested in regulating "free speech" as well? They're trying to limit porn here, and that's not going too well.

And you know what, all of this comes from France, freedom country.

Those bastards don't even know what a computer is and try to reduce the music downloading movement. But they are too late, way too late.

The only thing I need right now is a good tutorial for stealth mode dl...

Hmm... I wonder if there's a way to see if my MEP voted against or for it in the yesterday's (21st of April) first voting (or in case he wasn't there, which is likely seeing how it was only a small committee, what his opinion in general was). 5th of May is the second voting, or plenary, so if I write something to him, it would certainly be a lot more convincing if I knew what he thought about the issue in the first place...

All in all I've been paying zero attention to the EU parliament stuff, but this is actually pretty important. Especially since I have little trust in either MEPs or the members of our national parliament to know anything about the Internet. Also, it has always been so that the Finnish politicians listen very carefully to any corporate interests.

Edit: Well, he doesn't belong to the ITRE committee, so I suppose there're slim chances, unless the initial 2008 voting was plenary and you can somehow find out who voted what.

To make things clear, I do not even dl music.
First of all, streaming solutions are plenty.... second I'm not interrested in what is proposed in the music world most of the time.

It's just that in France, they setup the law in a way that allows them to monitor everyone, which is clearly not what should be done to solve the pirating problem. But it can be handy to use the pirating cause, in order to attain other goals...
