    Queen's Blade Visual Books to Bundle Original Anime DVDs
    2 DVDs in October, January with new anime set after Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi

    The official blog of the Queen's Blade franchise announced on Tuesday that two Queen's Blade Premium Visual Books will ship with original anime DVDs. The first Queen's Blade Premium Visual Book will ship this October, and Queen's Blade Rebellion Premium Visual Book will ship next January.

    The art collection books will include two DVDs with about 40 minutes each of all-new original anime . About 20 minutes will be a story about the Rebellion characters who have not appeared in Queen's Blade anime until now. About 20 more minutes will be devoted to an anime in which the character Alleyne and Siggy give private lessions. The stories are set after the Queen's Blade competition of Hobby Japan's original games but before the Rebellion. They take place after the storyline of the recent Queen's Blade Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi video anime series.

    Yousei Morino (Dōkyūsei 2, I''s) will direct the new anime at ARMS, the studio behind the previous Queen's Blade anime releases. Hideki Shirane (Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Master of Martial Hearts) and Michiko Itou (Queen's Blade 2: The Evil Eye, Queen's Blade Utsukushiki Tōshi-tachi) are scripting the new anime, and Rin-Sin, Takayuki Noguchi, and Yukiko Ishibashi are returning to design the characters and oversee the animation. Eri Kitamura (Alleyne) reprise her role with Aya Endo (Annerotte), Yu Kobayashi (Siggy), and Ayaka Saito (Ymir).

    Queen's Blade Visual Books' Anime Promo Streamed

    The official blog of the Queen's Blade franchise began streaming a 108-second promotional video on Friday for the two original anime DVDs bundled with the Queen's Blade Premium Visual Books. The first Queen's Blade Premium Visual Book will ship on October 29, and Queen's Blade Rebellion Premium Visual Book will ship on January 28, 2012.

    The all-new original anime project is set after the Queen's Blade competition of Hobby Japan's original games but before the Rebellion storyline. In particular, they feature the animated debut of the characters Annerotte (Aya Endo) and Siggy (Yu Kobayashi).

    Rebellion Arc TV Anime Green-Lit

    The Boobie Train keeps on rollin'.

    The December issue of Monthly Hobby Japan magazine is announcing on Tuesday that a television anime adaptation of the Queen's Blade: Rebellion storyline has been green-lit. The story originated in Hobby Japan's Queen's Blade fantasy game book franchise that also inspired the previous two television anime series and several original video anime volumes.

    The Queen's Blade: Rebellion game books serve as a sequel to the original Queen's Blade game books, which are Japanese spinoffs from Flying Buffalo's Lost Worlds game series. In combat picture book games, players simulate turn-based fighting with books that each represent a character.

    The story is set four years after the first storyline and revolves around Annelotte, the rebelling knight princess who stands up to the tyranny of the new queen. The Rebellion storyline already inspired two prologue original video anime DVDs that are being bundled with the Queen's Blade Premium Visual Books.

    Between Queen's Blade, Manyuu Hikenchou, Qwaser (S1 and S2), recent Ikkitousen sequels, and now Maken-ki, I came to realize that Queen's Blade is actually the best of the lot.

    It's a sad truth. Provided they keep the animation quality up, more Queen's Blade is always a good thing.

    That was a pretty kickass ep. Funny how Claudette's become a tyrant, but unifying the whole continent isn't exactly a bad idea in the long run.

    And a see-through horse to ride on? What a great idea! I would have preferred glowing blue eyes for our ice princess instead of red ones though. It seems too artificial.

    I can't say I'm particularly surprised considering what the nobles did to Claudette's sister in the first of the last OVAs. They destroyed the Vance Estate, planned to execute Elina after torturing her, and started their own rebellion just because Reina won and abdicated immediately to Claudette. All after their father had planned to overthrow the whole Queen's Blade scheme and set the nobles in power.

    At first I had thought that Claudette might be possessed (still a possibility), but her motivations for slaughtering the nobility make sense, just not necessarily the level of brutality she's using. Not to mention that Elina was always supposedly very fierce and cruel on the battlefield, so I guess even that makes sense.

    What did surprise me was that anyone fell for Annelotte pretending to be a boy. Long hair, feminine face and voice, and a smooth...hip region. Why did they even try?

    But Annelotte is a much better protagonist than Reina. She's got a real motivation and she was already competent before Alleyne trained her. Not like the previous protagonist who ran off because she wanted adventure and was terrible at fighting even after she developed her insta-win attack.

    The February issue of Hobby Japan magazine is announcing on Monday that the Queen's Blade: Rebellion television anime series will premiere in April. The anime will adapt the storyline of the same name in Hobby Japan's Queen's Blade fantasy game book franchise.
