    Coalguys - S2 Episode 11

    ----------------------------------------

Mugi's tank wasn't as big as what I thought it would be (something closer to the size of Sawako's car), but considering the available floor space in Japan, it may well have been quite impressive.

I have no idea. Funny how she didn't react when she went into the staffroom neither.

The only valid reason I can think about is how some people feel ill or dizzy when exposed to artificial cooling for a while. It isn't really an allergy, but more of a psychological thing, maybe.

    Apparently "cold" allergy exists.. 0_o

I know of a friend who was allergic to tomato sauce (and apparently, hot water), but I never took her 100% seriously (in terms of the word "allergy").

    Here we go:

Air Conditioning: Entering a cool building during a summer day can result in an allergic reaction to exposed areas of skin, congestion from breathing the cool air and possibly feeling fatigued. Carrying jackets with you on warm days is a good idea in case you enter an air conditioned building.

It's a common mistake, from what I've heard, to set the AC target temperature too low, in cases where you need to move between the conditioned space and non-conditioned. Too big a difference feels really freezing, even if the conditioned room's temperature doesn't look inappropriate on paper as such.

Mio with Azusa's hair style was a funny scene.

Has a new OP and ED been announced for the second half of the series?

This was actually a pretty decent episode, due to the setting change and slight personality changes as well for some of them. Novelty is starting to be hard to find in the show, so even a small breeze feels refreshing.

I wish we had been given more music... Yeah, an old complaint for sure.

I only just realised this was going to be 26 episodes long. That's a good thing, since I was worried that the next episode would make a poor ending.

It's also the first I've heard of "repellent (arm)bands". That's such an attractive thing for those who hate them sticky applications (providing they work) - I'm surprised I don't see them on sale here. Weird how they applied the spray to one spot though.

Azu-nyan looks even more toasted in the preview. XD

I'm rather surprised that some of the girls were wearing long pants. Japan's summers are meant to be hot and humid, as far as I know.

No mosquito repellent is ever going to beat long pants.

But it's kind of useless unless you wear long-sleeved shirts too. Actually, unless you cover yourself up pretty much entirely, you'll still need some repellent to stay bite-free.

You've got to weigh up the options too, and from all the heatwaves, it seems hardly justifiable to go around wearing long pants in that weather.

    I prefer my Azu-nyan medium-rare.

    Coalguys - Episode 13

    ----------

Hmm. this time it's Azu-nyan who went for some clothes that really don't look like summer-wear. That aside, the wardrobe designs look pretty nice on the girls.

Pretty funny episode. I've been told by my parents that mixing certain foods cause stomach pains, but I never took them seriously. Perhaps I should?

The liberal use of the phone camera's pretty cool. Too bad it'll never catch on here since multimedia messages cost a fortune.

Something called parental abandonment, a theme in many a series.

It's not that they don't have parents, we just never see them.

Please correct any if I am mistaken:

    - Yui and Ui's are reportedly working elsewhere (Kyoto or Osaka or something). I don't remember if both are working, or only the father and the wife went along. This is why Ui runs the household, and Yui...er...brainwashes her into complete subservience.

    - Ritsu actually has parents who are directly referred to, I think believe we heard her brother relayed the message to come to dinner.

    - Mio has parents, we just never see them, or know anything about them.

    - Asuza's are in a jazz band, and presumed away most of the time.

    - Finally, Mugi's father is a multinational businessman, so we can't ever expect to see him. No clue on her mother. Mugi is also one of the few we actually see speaking to her parents over the phone (I believe Jun has as well).
