Thread: Naruto Shippuuden Episode 99

Overall I think this was one of the best filler eps I've seen. It actually almost makes up for the useless crap...

Anyways, I think sending Naruto in alone was tactically unsound in traditional thinking, but the right choice. Even though he's not the greatest character, he has gotten considerably smarter as far as his individual actions. It was better for the rest of the team to fight together against the small fry as well since their combo techniques require almost the whole group to counter.

Now, playing into the lone star stuff... consider that if the enemy was as dangerous as the team suspected, and Naruto was injured to the point where he was forced into Kyuubi mode, it is much safer for all of them if the team stays away from him.

well yeah, it's not like Kakashi could really send anyone with Naruto. the enemy was like 5 guys, all assumably chuunin level and up, and since it was just the four of them they were out numbered as is.

but just the part were he's like "remember, you're just doing an investigation, don't get in a fight". it's just like, seriously? has kakashi ever worked with naruto before? naruto's first reaction to seeing a bad guy is to get pissed and charge them with a rasengan... naruto just entirely lacks the ability to keep a cool head and control his emotions.

I wonder how well our "New Naruto" will use his shadow clones if he does. Experience gathering and level headed tactical thinking, or "Shadow clones, RUSH RUSH RUSH!!"

    If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~

He's going to rush, because that IS level headed tactical thinking. Why would Naruto give the enemy a chance to get his bearings or form a plan? He can afford to keep sending disposable shadow clones until he finds an opening. Naruto has chakra to spare.

Despite the animation ruining the pace of fights, the tactic works well. For example, Kakuzu lost because Naruto kept him off balance.

Never thought of it like that before, that is a great tactical plan in fact. Sometimes an all out rush strategy is the best, sometimes now, but in a world where charka and timing and jutsu's reign supreme, his tactic is pretty good.

Do not reveal information that hasn't been shows in the anime yet.
