    Viper's Creed

First episode of Viper's Creed by Anime-Media:

The story revolves around the members of a private military company (PMC), and the uneasy tension between them and the regular military after a war that caused massive environmental destruction.

Interesting 1st episode. I have always been a fan of mechs and this didnt disappoint. The quality of the animation is very good as well. I liked the release by Anime-Media though there were a few spelling mistakes in the subtitles that caught my eye. Also the panning shots in the anime are incredibly jerky I do not know why though.

Yeah this series is definitely enjoyable. I like the mecha designs, the visuals, the combat and the characters seem to be coming into their own now. It definitely was a slow start but its picking up. And I also like Huzzah's releases. There's are a lot better than the other group that is also subbing it.

The mecha are pretty believable, aside from gun/explosion damage resistance, so I'm liking it. The cockpits and the AR elements are nice and seem pretty well thought-out. Can't say the setting would much impress me and the plots so far haven't been anything to submit reports about, but the characters aren't bad. Jolly good.

I would like to know more about the microbes and the candy effect on the water and all that stuff...it seems an interesting side effect that people cannot fly or use a boat because of that!

Hah. I hope we learn nothing more about it, as it's nothing but a plot device to force all vehicles to be the manner of land vehicles we have seen so far. I mean, during the first episode, is there anybody who didn't ask himself why they didn't employ an attack helicopter or a fighter jet to destroy the extra tough bugmech. I don't have anything against such artificial limitations if they serve the plot like they do in this series, but honestly more often than not they can't bear closer study, so they should be left alone.

that's a good point. we haven't really seen any kind of story put in place other than the "bad guys are sending in attack droids" plot that's been in every episode.

i don't really see where they're going with this series, but i like the action and characters, so i don't really mind.

Eh you could be right...but I am an optimist I guess especially since some of the people working on the show were the ones who did Appleseed if i am not mistaken.

Well at least now (hopefully) we have all of the backstory eps on the riders out of the way. Maybe now we can get some plot development.

Does anyone have a line on the OP, R.O.C.K. by ill? They say it was released at the end of January and I tired looking online but couldn't locate it.

Looks like Huzzah released theres as well...which one do you guys think is doing the releases of the best quality? I think Huzzah is on top of their game. AnimeMedia's releases especially in the panning shots give me a headache!

yeah, if i had to choose/recommend one i'd go with Huzzah. but for this series i'm really just grabbing whatever comes first.

i do like Huzzah'z double releases though.

    I'm only watching Huzzah.

    Episode 5 - Huzzah
    Episode 6 - Huzzah

Yeah I had never heard of Huzzah till now and they look like they are doing a great job with some minor spelling issues here and there. But visual quality is what I am going after and since I am archiving these series, Huzzah is making the most sense. I liked episode 5 quite a bit. All that sniping stuff was cool...though a lot less anticlimactic at the end I thought...but it could be the assassin wanted to be found very easily or something.

Episode 6 was ok but now that everyone's back story is sort of taken care of, bring on the real plot!

Somehow I like backstories more when they are mixed in with the actual content in relevant places. Now it's not yet even established why we should care about these fellows at all, and they bring full episodes of histories that have nothing to do with the current events. Although with no bigger plot yet, I guess there can't be anything relevant to the current events in the first place. One more thing they should fix before they get worried we don't know enough about people, whose names I don't even remember.

The action was good enough, though. Too bad the action is the only thing good so far in the series.
