It wouldn't surprise me if he were still alive, and yeah I miss the human version too.

You still reading? Up to chapter 99 is out at the moment, and things have heated up for some chapters now, though we're in the process of another powerup. Kubinashi is turning to a badass now.
Seems like there's an anime coming this summer, not sure if I had heard it before.

Kubinashi still kicking ass.
Good stuff, Kubinashi is pretty awesome.
I wonder if he's the strongest one among the youkai serving under Rikuo.
finally, they're addressing the situation of how Rikou got to command far more powerful youkais than himself.
I really should read the entire arc again. but maybe I'll wait until it's over?

so, while I didn't catch up, I finally watched the first episode of the anime...
did anyone else try it?
they switched around some stuff, for the sake of drama, but considering how the emphasis is already going towards the night form, I'm pretty pleased that they hadn't include him in the bulk of the episode.
many familiar voices, of course, and decent animation.
still, looks too much 'plot' directed rather than character focus.
it's like they dropped in on the 3rd episode or something.

I think Anime aims at Manga fans more than at new people to genre.

ep 2 is out, a horrible mess of unwanted drama and glorifying night rikou...
the absence of the first chapter (bus save from 4 years ago) is hampering the characterization.
meanwhile, at the manga. I've come around to read it again, and it's very enjoyable, Bankais all around.

well, I've been diving into the manga the past month (reading it several times... mostly after watching the anime).
and we're now up to chapter 133...
Liked Rihan's mr.bison outfit. it makes him look like he came out of Hellsing.
the backstory explains why Rikou was born so late after his dad, and why Rihan married such a personality-less woman. though, it raises the question of why he decided to marry after so many years, maybe he somehow gained psychic powers and foresaw his own death?
anyway, I'm bringing this thread back to life.

I really wonder if Rihan actually fell in love with Rikuo's mom or simply married her out of convenience. At first i thought Gitsune was Rikuo's sister, her being his dad first wife is a pretty nice twist.
At any rate, i wonder what sort of power comes with being the head since Rikuo seems to believe it'll make him stronger. There also the whole thing with the Cyclop in Rikuo house planning some sort of scheme that they never touched upon again after the Tanuki arc. I wonder if he's going to end up betraying them to Seimei.
I think the cyclops traitor was the same eyeball as the current one, the medous0mething jigsomeone, don't know his name.
as for the leadership of the clan, I don't have a clue.. he'll first need a new spirit sword to fight.
and still, there's the question of why Seimei can't live without rotting apart. didn't they change Kyoto into an eternally dark city just for this?

Speaking of spirit swords. The Cyclop did manage to recovered that sword the Tanuki used. He didn't seem to be a particularly powerful youkai, and i believe the sword is the only reason he was able to match Rikuo.
I wanted to say the Cyclop and that eyeball youkai are related somehow, but it just seems too obvious a path for the author to take. I don't think he's dead though, probably just out of action for a bit.
I think you aren't paying enough attention. eyeball cyclops just got killed, after he brought back Seiemei to life. remember how his assistant, Yoshizune (darkness bird ninja girl) helped protect the Kitsune host when Rikou's granddad attacked. maybe she can help Rikou, but I don't see any reason for her to do so. The sword is (Mao's hammer) is now in the Nue's hands, at any matter.
Maybe Rikou wants the title of the clan so he could use his grandfather 'fear' as a 'matoi'? that way he could have double invisibility, and sneak next to Semei and smack the motherfucker up.

This is what happened when i read manga in chunks. I completely forgot that scene ever happened.
I guess this arc pretty much tied up most of the loose ends then. This pretty much just leaves the final confrontation with Seimei.
As for the situation with Seimei rotting body. I think Grandpa wounding Kitsune and then sealing her might have disrupted the process so his technique is "incomplete". It's possible that the next arc involves Seimei trying a new ritual or spell that will complete his body.
134 is out.
I had suspicions that Rikou could go to Akifuasa for spirit blade help, but damn, the human form doing that was unexpected.

Chapter 135. a low key arc to follow through the time jump.
I like how they care to remind us that despite Rikou being the 'good guy' (and is a good guy on his own), he's also the head of the demon mafia, and they're somewhat crazy menacing.
and there's the ice-cons spirits, for anyone who wondered what happened to Orihime's power.
