Well... I'll go on the record now and say that if it is a troll, they've got me completely. The tone of the post is... I don't wanna say 'more serious' then their past troll posts, but rather serious in a very different manner. Their stated reasons are far more believable then their normal troll posts. And in all their previous trolls (to the best of my memory) they've basicly said they were dropping it immediately, not several months in advance to give us time to prepare. But hey - if I can get it for free, legally, after a week delay, I've no problem with that. I still have an episode a week and if its a week behind when people in Japan who I'll never meet or talk to see it, thats just fine with me.

I for one, do not actually care either way.

Dattebayo have trolled so many times there is no way of telling if it's true or not, if they continue on, fine. If they don't then no big loss. There are always alternatives and the ones of us who started with aone subs knows this very well.

I never said DB makes Naruto. I was referring to the company that produces it.

Dunno... if they continue at this pace, Naruto might catch up to the Manga in no time.

Eh, I gave up on Naruto a long time ago, so in the end I don't really care who subs it until the show somehow gets interesting..

I greatly admire sites like Hulu and Crunchyroll though, I think what they are badass and it's great that they stream anime.. (more specifially Hulu)

Have you seen it recently? It's worth your while to watch it now. Everyone is pleased with how Naruto is.

Will Viz's site block out anyone outside of America?

Crunchyroll already does so.

And no Viz merchandise is available on Mexico, even though we are near. The manga is being published by Editorial Vid here, and the anime is being released by a latin company as well, unrelated to Viz (though they use their censored version) This company hasn't even reached half the 3rd Chuunin exam in almost 2 years of transmission through Cartoon Network... local tv does not air it. So... yes, most probably they will block us.

I usually buy the english manga through Amazon (alongisde One Piece, Negima, Hack and Code Geass ). One of this days I'll buy Bleach. Never bought their DVD's though.

Finally got around to reading that press release, and I have to say that if it's a troll, it's surely somewhat different from the previous ones. They were basically kind of full of bs, even if they seemingly had some "reason" behind them, if you invested one full minute into thinking about it. This looks pretty different, especially if you assume it also was real history and those numbers and other facts are correct in it.

All the glorious intentions and reasons aside, it won't mean anything to me as long as the streams are blocked from others than denizens of the North America. Not to mention it would suck not to be able to archive. Still, it's of course up to DB and noone else to decide what they want to do.

Only time will tell whether this was nothing but the most masterful of their hoaxes or a real thing.

If it weren't for TW's excellent sub quality and slick encoding I would never have started watching Naruto.

AonE was ok, but until a certain version of bsplayer came out, the old Coppermine P3 couldn't decode it fast enough. It lagged worse than GG karaoke on my Clawhammer.
