    Best Anime Opening and Ending

    This part of the forum consists solely of anime threads, and it's time to spice things up

    Just post what you think are the best opening and endings of all the animes you have watched.

    It doesn't have to be a personal favorite anime of yours, just one with a catchy song or great animation that you always enjoyed watching.

    It's would also be nice if you could post the link for it on youtube so the rest of the forum can also enjoy them.

    Best opening: Death Note - The World

    From the music, to the animation, to the symbolism this has to be the best opening i have ever seen. Watched it every single time i saw an episode, and that's saying something.

    Best ending: Code Geass - Waga Routashi Aku no Hana

    Ok this favoritism of mine is probably influenced by the fact that i just finished the series and am currently inloved with it. May have to update this later when i'm not influenced by the geass but it's still on my top 5 not just because of the music but also because of the great art work that comes with it.

    I have a few favorite OPs. I'll have to second the Ergo Proxy one, when I first heard it I couldn't help but listen to it a few more times, and then atleast once every time a new episode came out.

    I love that one too, i even have it on my mp3 player.

    Another of my favorite openings was:

    Rurouni Kenshin - Sobakasu

    I love it mainly because i remember watching it when i was a kid, it was one of the first animes i was introduced too and made me love the style.

    Are you sure it was the ending song? I'm pretty sure it was simply the song for when the dude went into battle mode... at least that's how I remember it.

    Yeah, I couldn't stop listening to the Ergo Proxy one myself. I thought it setup what Ergo Proxy was about perfectly...

    My favorite ending has to be the Karas ED, Selenite by Rurutia. Too bad it has no real graphics, just scrolling white credits on black like in your every standard movie.

    @Munsu: The Samurai 7 opening is one of the few openings I like.

    There haven't been many openings that I've liked, I'm more of an ending person. The one opening that always stuck with me though, was Naruto OP 5. I liked the song and the animation.

    The Konoha team running to catch up to Sasuke, the picking up and dropping of the forehead protector, the Gai and bandaged up Lee moment, and the second version when he was fighting again. The Sand Team, Sound 5, Oro/Itachi scenes were great too.

    Naruto Opening 5 - "Seishun Kyousoukyoku" by Sambomaster - Full PV - Live Version

    Favorite ending is a tie, between InuYasha EDs 2 and 5. Both songs are amazing and Tomiko Van has a beautiful voice.

    InuYasha Ending 2 - "Fukai Mori" by Do As Infinity

    InuYahsa Ending 5 - "Shinjitsu no Uta" by Do As Infinity

    This thread is severely lacking in:
    "euphoric field" by Tenmon feat. ELISA (ef - a tale of memories OP)
    "ebullient future" by TENMON featuring ELISA (ef - a tale of melodies OP, the silhouette version)

    The songs are good, but it is the animation of these two that really stand out. The scenes in the background are very good at provoking an emotional response, and amazingly, you can find many parallells in the storyline to what happens to each of the characters. I'm sure the melodies one will as well, but the memories OP changes for the final episode, not only switching back to the Japanese, but also showing a different scenes due to the events that happened over the course of the series, subtle but still obvious.

    As for EDs, I'm a little more fickle depending on how my favorite series have shifted around, but I will here submit:

    "Jikan yo Tomare" by AZU feat. Seamo (Itazura na Kiss ED2, video starts at 3:00, can't find an undubbed version of the anime ED by itself)
    AZU has a really beautiful voice, and it's a duet/love song, so it fits the theme of the series really well.

    I'd put "Taishō.a" by anNina (Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai ED) as the runner up though. It's even better when you know what the lyrics are.
    (Can't find an undubbed version of the ED sequence again).
