I second both of these. I've never seen GitS, but I'm in love with that soundtrack, and pretty much any song by Origa. Darker than Black comes in second for my favourite metal selection. It's just not heavy enough to surpass Death Note.Originally Posted by Xelbair
My other favourite OP is Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. This is the only OP that I watched all the way through for every episode of the show. I usually skip the OP for a show after I've seen it once, and even the ones I like I'll only watch a few times before I start skipping them. Higurashi was just strangely addicting and compelling.

it's the "english" version of the original "engrish" one... and it's one of the few songs which could hit 1# in the charts any time imho ^^

No, it's done by a much inferior performer and most likely produced with nowhere near the professional effort as Disillusion.
For the best anime opening, it would be Gundam 00 season 1 : Daybreak's Bell by L`Arc~en~ciel. As for the best anime ending, Toward the Terra : Love is... by Miliyah Kato.

My all time favorite is Kimi no soba de from Recca no Honou (ED).
My current favorite is Bouken Suisei from Tales of the Abyss (ED). This song probably has one of the best lyrics that I have ever heard.
