Somehow, Ishida and Renji getting caught by that wing was completely... stupid. They could have used their high speed to evade it, but somehow, that just didn't work out.
Now, we have this guy with four wings protruding from him and creating dolls to suit his manner. Something's not right...
I think the reason that they got caught was their "cocky" attitude. Ishida wanted to attack Syazel after Renji Bankai'd the whole place, but got caught and was "eaten" alive. Renji charged in without thinking and got caught too. It was stupidity on their part, but not planning ahead was their sole factor in getting beaten.
