    Kurozuka

A story of obsessive love and constant pursue told over a 1000 year period. Escaping from a brother who had just ascended the throne, Yoshitsune, along with his servant, comes across a house in the middle of a desolate mountain. Oddly enough, only a young woman lives there, who seems to possess a very dark and ominous past.

It starts out with Kurou meeting the beautiful women by the name of Kuromitsu, thus began a relationship which transcends life and memories. A journey of immortals and those who chase after it. The majority of this story takes place a few centuries into the future where Kurou is separated from Kuromitsu and is left without memories. He then begins a search for answers to as to who he is, why he is unable to die and who was the women he is so transfixed upon.

I've read the manga, and it's fairly good... decent brutal action and decent plot. I've been looking forward to this, but this can be a tricky series to adapt. Hopefully they don't fuck it up.

I remember reading the manga. Although I can't remember the ending if it is finished already. What I remember is the brutal scenes from the fighting. I'm glad they made an anime out of it.

    Thanks shinta|hikari for the sig.

Just watched the first ep. Has potential to be great, but its got its work cut out for sure. I couldn't bring myself to care what happens to the characters, but they have the potential to be some what likable. The overall concept the show looks like its going to be based on seems a bit boring (trying to be spoiler free) to me, but it might get better. I haven't read any of the manga so I can't say. The subs could be better, with some obvious issues with the translation, not so bad that you don't understand whats going on, but poor wording. Gonna give it a few more eps before I decide what I think of it.
My name isn't cause I like Gonzo animation. I was given this as a nickname way before I watched anime.

The first episode was pretty brutal. It kind of reminds me of Ninja Scroll!

the story fails on the same issue that most 'immortal' stories fail.
You want all the characters to die, but they never do.
it's frustrating, as with each passing second you hate them more and more, yet, by definition, they don't die.

sig made by Itachi-y2k5, thanks, dude!
Currently Watching: probably a show directed at 9 years old girls, lets be honest.

I found this episode very difficult to follow. The timeline was jumping around, and the characters kept talking to each other in cryptic phrases. The final scene was excellent though, and I feel like everything up to this point has just been the prologue. Now hopefully the story will slow down a bit and go about things in a more linear way.

    Episode 3

I'm strangely addicted to this series. I think it has just enough weird-factor to intrigue me, but not so much that it drives me away. I like the crazy post-apocolyptic future, and how Kuro totally freaks them out. And it looks like we've been introduced to what looks like could be one of the show's major villains, and perhaps someone who has some answers to the mysteries surrounding Kuro.

Series seems interesting, it just keep me tied to the screen.
The first episode really got me hooked up - plot looked good, animation too, and its style was just purely epic. ep 2 was not so good as ep 1 but it still was good.

The manga was pretty decent and the story isn't bad. The way story was told though is extremely obnoxious and annoying with erratic jump between the past and future that really break flows.

Just like bud said, this story can be tricky to adapt into anime form. If done right however, this series has potential to be an excellent gory/dark theme anime and we don't have too many of those.

I'd like to make a special note about the OP. It's rare that we get metal music in anime, so i wish they would had pick a song that is not completely atrocious and actually fit the OP.

This show has me hooked like you guys as well. I cant wait for 04 to get released! Looks like the quality of the animation is quite good so I wonder why no 720p releases. Ah well doesn't matter. I enjoyed the swordplay in the first episode a lot. Second episode was alright. 3rd really got me into the show and now I am dying for the 4th episode to see what's going on...awesome show!

I hope the timeline would get stabilized, though. A nice and grimy show.

I'm ok with the time jump, as long as they don't make a habit out of it. For instance, if the next episode jumps into a different time period, I would be annoyed, since I'm just starting to get into the future setting and figure out what's going on with the people and the political structures there.

    Episode 4

I was a little disgruntled at the beginning of this episode when they flung us into yet another time period, with little point of reference to deduce exactly when. However, I forgave them by the end when they tied it into the immediate story, and incorporated that crazy flashback Kuro had in the bar last episode. I had a lot of questions that came up when watching this episde. What exactly is wrong with Kuro's memory? Even though he doesn't die, does sustaining serious injuries have an affect on his memory? And why would the soldiers take away Kuromitsu, but leave Kuro? From what I understand, someone made her immortal in the past, and she made Kuro immortal the same way, therefore his blood should be just as valuable to them as hers.

I loved the matrix-type scene where he slows down time and cuts the bullets out of the air. The assassin made me laugh, because he was so rotund and silly looking, and yet remarkably agile. It looks like Kuro can't use his time-slowing ability on demand though, since he was owned by those soldiers shortly after. I'm actually pretty confused because the current leader of this group was wearing that logo on his suit when he took Kuromitsu, and yet I'd thought that was the logo worn by the opposing army since the dudes attacking them in the last episode were wearing it. And wasn't that symbol also worn by the soldiers in the far past who attacked Kuro? Maybe I'm misremembering here....but I know it's significant, and I can't make the connection yet.
