Mizuki Nana as the lead heroine? I'm there. Not too much else to watch in the shoujo department with no one subbing Skip Beat.

I'll edit after I watch it.

    EDIT:

It is definitely shoujo, that's for sure. But it is a fair representation of Romantic Era literature too, at least in terms of some of the themes and time period. Nothing really pulled me in yet, but I will give it a few more episodes out of curiosity.

It's most certainly shoujo, through and through. Even the cat was shoujo style.

If the first episode didn't pull me in, this one certainly did. From the strange abilities of the apparently half-fey Raven, the odd look-alike with the demon dog hiding around a corner, to the criminal chasing Edgar and now framing him even further.

There are certainly plenty of growing mysteries, none of which look like they will be simple to unravel.

I've got to admit, even as a male viewer, Edgar is one hell of a lady killer. Which makes Lydia even more interesting to have been able to withstand his assaults all this time. With the way he's been acting, most typical shoujo heroines would be swooning on the ship and in bed with him by the time he got hurt.

    Noblesse oblige:

    Episode 11 - m.3.3.w
    Episode 12 Final - m.3.3.w

I liked this series. It was adventure shoujo, and while shoujo itself is hardly my favorite genre, adventure shoujo actually rarely disappoints. Hikaru 'Zelgadiss' Midorikawa played the Earl's role exquisitely, and it was always a pleasure to watch him try to woo Nana Mizuki's Fairy doctor, who never took him seriously (except perhaps deep down in good romance story fashion). The series was also otherwise filled with awesomely well flowing dialogue (must be a solid shoujo trait).

Adventure and action sides were well presented as well, and in a certain sense worked better than in any usual shounen fare, because what a character lacked in one area, he somehow dealt with by using other skills, by bluffing, or by relying on others, so it wasn't simple pushing through all the time. The characters were sufficiently deep as well, the setting and story details engaging.

I dropped this because of download limit reasons in favour of Ga-Rei Zero. Would you recommend this as one of the better shows of Fall 2008?

Sure. It was that for me. However, I can't really judge whether it would be that for everybody.
I just like theatrics, Bond style ladies first attitude, practical mythology, loyalty, decisiveness, and the other aspects this series served well.

I think it would be useful if you also posted which shows from Fall 2008 you're watching, which ones you've dropped, and which ones you're also considering alongside this one. Because say you aren't watching Casshern Sins, you'd probably should go with that one over this one (though I don't know anything about this series).

Right now I'm trying Natsume Yuujinchou since I've enjoyed pretty much all series I've watched from Brain Base so far. But this seems something worth checking out for when I'm bored.

Well that blond guy and his servant were really interresting. Our fairy doctor didn"t impress me much, same goes for her cat.
That water horse was also quite interresting, for some reason, it's both voice actors who for that water horse and the count that made the show to me.

It was rather entertaining, which is my aim when watching anime, so this is a pass.
I would have given even better credit if the art had been better.

All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.
