I fully support Mikoto.
I fully support Mikoto.
Btw, whatever happened to that wave emitting magician?
Uhhh... a really deredere Mikoto.
nice episode, the fight was very cool too.
I can only say positive things about this show so far... I love it
Mikoto is surprisingly shy. But I guess it can't be helped since she really seems to have fallen in love with Touma. However, more than her behavior in Touma's company I was surprised she hadn't more guts in dealing with the random new guy (or rather the mage posing as the guy). The level 5 power really hasn't turned her arrogant at all.
well she explained why she can't turn him down so easily... he's the grandsom of her school's superintendent
You better stop playing with your old man's time machine, KrayZ. We aren't living the 19th century anymore. Female students don't need to grant favours of any kind of any relatives of superintendents. It's probably a pretty expensive school anyway, so actually it should be the other way around. Even in Japan.Originally Posted by KrayZ33

I think you shouldn't compare the real world with the anime world :/
rewatch episode 1 and you'll see that Mikoto is not really a "good girl" ^^
and it's not like she made up the grandson part to hide that she is actually a nice person.. at least it didn't sound like that at all

While that is true in the real world...according to what the anime said...and what KrayZ was right in pointing out was Mikoto felt she could not turn him away because he was the grandson of the school's superintendent...Krayz is not making stuff up. Its a bit unwarranted dont you think? Anyway I am surprised too that Mikoto the Railgun cant turn a guy down especially in the 1st episode she presumably took the gang down!Originally Posted by Kraco
It all comes down to how much the superintendent spoils his grandson, how vengeful and spiteful his grandson is, and just how upright the superintendent is. Considering how Mikoto said it, it sounds like his "status" is what's keeping her from ditching him like she would to some random rather than the above reasons though. Or that she tries to keep up a good image in front of all the higher-ups like stereotypical top students?
Anyway, MIKOTO!! Did she end up eating that hotdog after the switch? I liked how it was so obvious to the audience that they mixed up after all
As for this "Touma Fraction", I thought they introduced it a bit too early, since he's barely done any "rallying" of sorts. Then again, he did defeat the city's strongest level 5, putting him in the spotlight of things. For hypersensitive, paranoid snooping parties in particular, he would be seen as a threat. After all, right before his vocation, they did warn him: Things could get dangerous.
What didn't make sense was who and how Index was getting her info. From what we've seen, she hasn't maintained contact with wither Stiyl or Kanzaki. I don't think the Church would do so much as directly contact her neither, given how they've never shown up and regarded her as simply a "container".
Funnily enough, the whole chasing scene with uber-powerful shapeshifters, cellphone calls and computer screens intel gave me the Matrix vibes.
If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
what info, you mean how she knew about this lance etc? she is the container of 103.000 grimoires after all so I guess she can "read" them anytime. What didn't make sense was who and how Index was getting her info. edit: @ rep
even if she isn't able to access the grimoires, Index knows about all that.."magic, Index, Necessarius... knowledge keeps popping up" is what she said in ep 2 or 3, so I thought that memory from the grimoires leaks/leaked and she knows about it
so instead of repping people just because you *think* you are right, you could at least make a statment in this thread just like everybody else and tell us why you think so.
isn't it a bit boring otherwise?
btw when was it stated that she has no access to it? During the time when Touma dispelled the magic seal? I can't remember that and I'm not able to rewatch the scene for now (this week), anybody knows that?

I believe that was the main point of the first arc. Index having the 103,000 grimoires in her brain and having no access to it.
Fantastic episode. Have watched it several times already. Skipping after the intro of course.
I'll have to check on that. From what I remember, they said the church stored the grimoires in Index because she couldn't use magic - which we later found to merely a programmed limitation.Originally Posted by RyougaZell
@KrayZ: Yeah, I think you're right. I confused the Mahou Anime she was watching on TV from actual info -> I read the stuff she was babbling before the phone rang, it all makes sense now. And yeah, I do think she can access it, since "robot mode" is gone.

Well, this was quite a cool episode. Loved the whole "Touma Faction" things, and that they're becoming a powerful group so the higher ups are targetting not only him, but all the people around him.
Did anyone not notice how Mikoto was more preoccupied with listening to what Touma may feel towards her instead of tending to [the fake] Mitsuki who was crushed under pillars of steel beams? [The fake] Mitsuki did like her as well...
It was nice to see a little humanity and humility inSesshomaruAccelerator now that the experiement is over, although MISAKA 20001's double self-referential speak was starting to get a little annoying.
I did enjoy that the reason he blocked out sound was Index.
Not too much else to say, this was mostly setup and intro for next time.
20001's analysis of how Accelerator treated the MISAKAs was interesting. We haven't seen him that flustered since he got punched by Touma.
Fantastic episode... and a complete change of pace having an episode centered on someone else other than Touma.
Last Order's speech... was it translated accurately? I mean she always said " - verb - Misaka wa Misaka wa" yet the translation had the verb twice.
For a moment I thought Accelerator blocked Komoe sensei's voice... but I guess it was the Librorium. He doesn't even know her and he is annoyed. BTW... that voice blocking is connected directly to last episode right? Since it was the last day of vacation the previous episode and this took place that same night. Could Last Order have been looking for Touma and yet she decided to follow Accelerator instead upon seeing him? She started following him just after he blocked Librorium's voice.
Last Order (I suppose that's her official name?) seemed to imply she went after Accelerator on purpose. In some odd way, the core of the MISAKA network actually seems quite fond of the person who murdered her 10,000 times.
At first I was speculating that this was due to her not being....ripened properly, but then she gave that long discussion in the diner about how he must not be a bad person because he kept trying to scare her off and whatnot. Maybe despite the alternate opinions of certain individual MISAKAs (notably 10031 and 10032's affection for Touma), Last Order having spent all the other time "playing with" Accelerator, prefers him.
I noticed it but to be honest, he did hurt Mitsuki and took his skin to camouflage himself, since I assume that the real Mitsuki told Mikoto what happened. You can't expect her to reciproate her feelings to him just because he confessed about it to Touma during their fight. Even then she only heard about him saying "Can you protect her?" so that's completely arbitrary.Originally Posted by enkoujin
