Yea, her role in the anime is for "comical" effects after the first arc subsided. However, the librorum is important to those who still seek out the forbidden spells; we just haven't seen those type of villains yet.

I think I tried them, but since Eclipse was like 12-24 hours late only at max, I decided it was worth the wait

Based on the quality (or lack of) of the AoShen Birdy releases, I judge it's completely worth the delay to wait for Eclipse.
Plus... I think AoShen uses a non wide-screen version. I think I readed somewhere this was the reason Eclipse waited for another channel's source.
I guess there might be some people who would watch the AoShen subs for the sake of knowing what happens next. But, I agree. The Eclipse fansubs are better and are definitely worth the wait. Should I continue doing AoShen and Eclipse or just wait for Eclipse overall?

In the end, posting a link is nice to the community as it's a nice place to come to to check for shows we like. Even if we can do it with torrent spiders, sometimes it happens that we forget some titles, or are too lazy to actively seek for them, but here they are, at gotwoot.

Do what you're doing now, but just post AoShen's release there, and make a new post when Eclipse's release comes out. Reason for that is so the thread actually gets bumped to tell people of a release, since a lot of people don't keep checking threads (myself included) when there's no "progress"Originally Posted by Nadouku

If it's not Isuzu-chan Mii~
Yes i prefer Eclipse's releases actually. In fact when Thora announced their bluray versions of the show, I just did a quick compare to see how much the bluray version would improve the visual quality overall, and to my amazement I did not see much improvement actually. The only thing the bluray version improves is the audio because my 7.1 is able to separate out all the channels.
The visual improvement is not by much because the fansubs are coming from an HDTV source.Originally Posted by digitalrurouni
With some other shows like ef for example, the difference is just stunning and let's you think the show is different altoghter as the visuals are so important there.
Regarding quality you then have:
SDTV source: watch only if you can't wait weeks/months and/or you want to speak about the show with many people on many places
HDTV source: quality should be fine provided the encoding is done well and subs are of a decent quality. Same
Blu-ray source: It's the best option quality wise but you have to wait till the end of the show most of the time. So you can't really share opinions anymore. Also you may miss some winks related to news (like the wink to Obama in ep 15 from TMI). But since you have all eps, you can marathon watch which is sometimes great because you don't loose anything from main arcs and can progress from ep to ep without losing anything.
Picture wise, the quality won't improve by much over a nicely encoded HDTV source. Subs might be better as subbers had lots of time working on other source, or/and either can rework their previous productions. Also, as they have all eps, they can also care about global quality for namings and other details.
So for now, let's wait for Eclipse's

I gave up and watched AoShen's release. They are pretty bad. They need a QC who understands proper grammar. "I and Tsuchimikado"? Damn people. Actually, they need a QC period. So many mistakes, and so easy to spot.
Impressions of the new OP? Beginning lyrics sucked, rest of it was average, nothing special. Introduction of new busty dark haired sensei (yum), as well as new characters with different abilities.
That was resolved rather lamely.
RZ's gonna love the preview for next episode though.
There's a new OP? No wonder Eclipse is taking so long.
Yeah there is, and it's much better than the last one
Now i hope they'll change the ending too, it's too girly.
I knew the culprit was obvious, but I was mistaken about the other one. Coincidentally activiting a spell with the pre-arranged artifacts in the exact locations? That's just strange.
Tsuchimikado sure has a powerful ability. He can use magic all he wants now, with the reprecussions of feeling pain every time he does so. But... everything felt pretty rushed, for some reason.

Exactly, why putting so much effort in a long preparation for the angel fall and have everything rushed so much, I wonder.Originally Posted by Nadouku

I wouldn't count on that. Tsuchimikado said they were arranged according to feng shui. So, in a certain sense, it was only a matter of time. The dad kept collecting all manner of good luck items everywhere he could in order to "save" his son, and arranged them carefully. I think the special skill here is his deep connection to feng shui to be able to arrange them like that. But in a world like that, it's actually pretty natural he could have such an instinct. So, in short, he kept collecting them until a critical threshold was breached.
What comes to the flattened climax of this arc, I think it might actually suit this series, in the end. All things considered, this is a strange mix of cruel, badass powers and high goofiness.
Well that sure was a rather disappointing climax to this arc, even though it started out so well. The fact that a spell of this magnitude was started coincidentally, seemed like such a lame explanation. It doesn't bode well for their world, if spells like this can be cast so randomly.
Tsuchimikado's ability seems pretty sweet. It'll be interesting to see if he sticks around to use it again, in the future.
@Repper - Yes, that's right.
