One Outs: Nobody Wins, but I!

    Ahoi,

i didnt see a topic for that series, so, here it is.

A bit of information from yukianimereviews:

Reportedly the upcoming issue of Newtype Magazine will include a confirmation that Madhouse and the main animation staff behind the gambling anime TV series Akagi and Kaiji will produce a TV anime adaptation of Shinobu Kaitani’s unusual 1998 baseball manga series One Outs. The story revolves around a professional pitcher who accepts a contract stipulating that he earns 5,000,000 yen for every strike out he pitches, but loses 50,000,000 yen for every point he allows. The anime series is scheduled to premier in October.
I hope we´ll see it being subbed soon. im totally not interested, but, oh well, i wasnt in mahjong...

Damn, thought it was another series by Fukumoto Nobuyuki at first. Looks good either way though.

i watched the raw of episode 1.
without subs you simply cannot make out what´s so special about it ^^ will wait for subbed versions now.

though it really seems not quite on par with akagi and kaiji...still, subs might change that.

    [B2E] One Outs - 01 [DivX]

Finally the first episode has been subbed by someone, however it's from a new group so I got no idea how good they are. Regardless, it's better than nothing.

As for the torrent saying it's H264, the fansubber's site said the following :
EDIT: this file has been incorrectly tagged. its not H264, but rather DivX. but bleh, whatever.

Good translation. No karaoke, but the translation doesn't seem bad(typesetting and English spelling at least, I wouldn't notice other stuff). Didn't realize until hearing him(Toua) speak that he has the same voice actor that voiced Kaiji and Akagi. This is a must watch for me now. (The name is Masato Hagiwara).

Enjoyed the first episode... I first need to finish Kaiji, but good to see Akagi's VA being used once again. Looking forward to the next episode.

I don't know about the japanese to english accuracy, but there are no spelling errors that I've noticed, and I didn't see any awkward sentences( there might be some anyway, I probably don't manage to see them). The visual quality is good, the font looks fine. No karaoke.

How well does Akagi's art style fit with Baseball? Might pick this up.

It isn't Akagi's art style, just a main character similar to Akagi. The art, I must say, is very good.

Toua actually looks like a combination of Akagi and Hiruma from Eyeshield 21...which isnt a bad thing ^^

Great episode again. Finally some original Akagi-style action. As for the next episode, i think that foul player is going to betray the boss and will really give his best.

I like it quite a lot so far. I'm wondering whether the story will focus more on Toua's bet or on the team's success. Either is fine with me, although I would prefer a focus on gambling. And I would like to see more details on the team if that is to be the main focus. I'm hoping for more interaction between Toua and his teammates(outside of just strategy), those bits have been fun so far.
