I personally don't think 1 extra ep will do Kyo's arc justice. I was thinking more along the lines of a 3 part ova since its alot that they will have to rewrite for this particular ova. Nonetheless, I'm waiting to see this ep.

I haven't played the game, so I can't say how much material the anime cut out by glossing over the Kyou and Ryou arcs. Regardless, the Tomoyo Alternate Reality OVA was really a Tomoyo/Tomoya story that's not based on the actual cannon(TV) material, nor was it a continuation of the Tomoyo Arc.Originally Posted by k1sousuke

It(the file) was stripped down to 18+ material. No doubt the actual game contained much more content that is non-H, and possibly even more H.

I thought this might be of interrest to some people.
It wasn't very useful, great or interresting. I guess that slapping that in a single episode was too much after all.
On another subject:
The game is being fansubbed, considering the 300 hour long game play, this is still a work in progress.
As anyone tried the subbed version of the game as it is now?
I'd like to try it, it would be my first game like that. Too bad I didn"t take japanese when I was in highschool...
All the things I really like to do are either illegal, immoral, or fattening. And then: Golf.

Kyou extra - Perfect Blue Fansub
It certainly wasn't too amazing an ova. Like David said, too much for one measly episode, and so it didn't succeed particularly well at anything. Most of the time was wasted on choosing between Ryou and Kyou, with very little left for any relationship fun or issues, not to mention for nearly any character development (unless you count cutting hair shorter). Plus like the Tomoyo extra, this was also bloody depressing for most of its length. Even the characters themselves weren't behaving like they did in the series, because they were so depressed.
It was way too rushed. One episode is clearly not enough time to work with.
I agree, one episode just isn't enough.
I felt this was much weaker than Tomoyo's Extra Chapter though.
They should have made this into a two-part OVA. I enjoyed it, though.

Emotionally this was definitely weaker than the Tomoya Extra. We didn't really see Tomoya develop any deep love for either case, so it was hard to empathise with him at all.
Actually, even if we did, it still wouldn't compare, since this was about Tomoya choosing one girl or another, while the other was choosing to be together, or letting go of an already developing relationship so Tomoyo could succeed.
Still, I don't think they did a bad job, and I'm struggling to come up with how they could have done it better.
Even though these are alternate realities, they're still exploring the possibilities from the main story. Story elements were also just transfered (Tomoyo/Tomoya's good/bad reputation at school, aspirations, and Kyou/Ryou's love battle/denial).
In season 1, the solution to all this was Nagisa >> all, giving a double lose to the Fujibaiyashis.
Going with that, exploring the possibility of Kyou/Ryou winning would have meant for exactly what happened this epiode: Ryou dating, Kyou realising.
The entire setup meant sharing the focus between the twins, making the audience just as distracted as Tomoya was, preventing much mood from setting in.
I wouldn't mind a longer episode, but splitting it in two could have been worse IMO. Do they even have that much material to work with?
In that sense, I thought this was a pretty well done extra episode. It's just disappointing there wasn't enough Kyou-love.

Didn't I say this arc would need more than one ep? No, I havent played the entire game I've just clicked my way through like 2-3 paths....but yea 2-3 eps would of been better even showing ryou's after path would of been much better(play the game to find out what i mean hint ryou lies about being ...cant say it would spoil too much) ^^. The way Tomoya realized everything whom he really liked and whom he was always looking at was too rushed/poorly shown although i liked the ep it just went by too fast. But alas this was the final ep of a good series, i enjoyed it through and through no complaints well some but minor
