    Detroit Metal City

Based on the seinen manga by Wakasugi Kiminori serialised in Young Animal.

Souichi Negishi is a shy young man who came from the rural Ota Prefecture to Tokyo for college and wished to become a kindergarten teacher. However, for some reason he became the singer and songwriter of a metal band named "Detroit Metal City," with a stage name "Johannes Krauser II." Whenever he wears the heavy makeup, Negishi becomes a completely different person, shouting the most vulgar profanities beyond anyone's imagination. With the popularity of DMC increases, Negishi starts worrying his double personalities can have negative effects on his (romantic) life off stage.

I'm surprised there's no thread for this series. I watched the first episode from Triad and it was amazing. The art and presentation style is somewhat similar to Zetsubou Sensei. The dialogue is very witty and hilarious. There's really nothing I don't like about this series, or at least the first episode.

Now if you'd excuse me, I'm going to watch episode 2 now.

Ugh, horrible. I thought something like this would really pique my interest but it's just full of black metal stereotypes and the art is terrible. And what the fuck kind of name is Detroit Metal City?

    This series is hilarious.

To each his own, I guess.

I youtubed it... there was a boy who was playing guitar, a girl who seemed to like it, and the boy seems to like the girl and suddently his metal face appeared and the next thing I heard was growling and absurd stuff and faces

    god this makes no sense.

but I laughed extremely hard -> this stuff is good, downloading it now!

Those videos don't really help your understanding of what's going on, especially if you don't know Japanese...

This episode was a bit weaker than the first two, but I still loved it nonetheless.

I've just watched ep6. ULTIMATE WIN!!!

"He just bought her back for the reaping"
    poor Negishi, so misunderstood

Anyhow since this was such a win episode, I downloaded both Huzzah's and Triad's sub and I noticed that they are really different. Which group's subs are more accurate, which subs are funnier, which do you prefer?

Based on reputation, I'd guess Triad would be better. However, it's just speculation.

I just finished watching 11 episodes.. this series is awesome and hillarious. I know that this metal band(especially lyrics) are based on stereotypes but still its hillarious, even for metalhead like me.
    ps.
