    TV: Sons of Anarchy

This is a new show that starts tonight on FX, and it looks like it'll be a good one. Main actors include Ron Pearlman (Hellboy), Charlie Hunnam (Undeclared), and Katey Sagal (Married with Children).

It airs tonight at 10pm, and shows usually at that hour in FX contain mature themes and/or explicit violence.

It really looks like it'll be worth checking out, here's a trailer:

From Kurt Sutter, writer/producer of The Shield, comes Sons of Anarchy, a dark drama set in Charming, a sheltered community watched over by a renegade motorcycle club intent on protecting the town from the newcomers that threaten it. Jackson "Jax" Teller is one member of the brotherhood, who finds his own loyalty to the group tested when he experiences its increasing lawlessness and notoriety, while at the same time adjusting to life as a father. But confusing matters are Jax's mother and stepfather, two ruthless individuals who happen to be the masterminds behind the club.

Sons of Anarchy is broadcast on FX, and produced by FX Productions, Art Linson Productions and Fox 21. The series has been picked up for a full 13-episode first season.

Jax's mother is a true psycho if I've ever seen one. I think I'll stick with this one and try and catch up on the other interesting shows I don't bother watching. This series is quite charming.

Just watched it and really liked it. A typical FX show... not pulling any punches. I still want to see the direction this series is going to take, but so far it promises some good acting and action. Katey Sagal is great, and she looks quite good.... that scar between her tits is awesome. Great cast.

This is going to be a good one, FX never disappoints as far as I'm concerned. Katey Sagal does look great, and she's been around forever. I can't blame her for confronting the mother though, shit, it had to be said. On the other hand though, it looks like she values her boyfriend more than Jax. I wonder what all she and the head of the SOA (Ron Perlman, I forgot his screen name) have been doing with this club that Jax's father didn't want. She seems adamant that her son is going to be the group's successor, but it looks like they've been in collusion so long that she may have even caused her husband's death directly.

    And lol@ Asian Elvis

I don't think she values her boyfriend (Clay I think was his name) more than her son. She just wants him to make her son a tougher person. But if she had to choose one over the other, she would choose her son without a doubt from what I've seen. She seems like a badass chick that would go through any means to do what's best for her son.

We'll see. And yeah, FX never disappoints.

I think what I meant about valuing Clay was that she valued their empire together quite a bit, to the extent that she doesn't want her son finding out their true goals with the group, which she says they worked hard for over the years. How she is protecting this secret without wanting Jax to know what his father really did, makes it sound like she's going to have some big problems with him if he starts an uprising while Clay is still around to lead them. There's something very important she is getting out of this as well.

I can agree with that... surely at some point there's going to be some sort of clash between her loyalty to the vision of the group and her son.

I can also see her using Clay just the same to assure Jax's inheritance as the leader of the club. I can easily see her killing Clay off.

But, as you say, she surely has some stake in this club... and I think, if anything, that's what she values. Does she value it more than her son? I don't know... but I think she'd kill Clay in a second to further her agenda, as it regards to club issues or even for things that she views that are in her son's best interest (which he might see differently).

It's obvious though, that she's a master manipulator.

Any of you guys seen a torrent for episode 2? Can't find one.

On BMT there's one. Thats where i got mine. You know where to get it though :P

Episode 2 was awesome. This show is one of my favorites already. Well i have always loved Katey Sagal. But the whole concept is great. But Katey Sagal's character "Gemma Teller Morrow" is definitely my favorite. She's just so manipulative. But at the same time i don't see her as afraid or even hesitating to do the dirty work herself (which the stereotypical manipulator usually is).

Anyway the druggy bitch survived. Although i suspected she would. After all i couldn't see them bringing in that actress just to be in the first episode and then get killed of. I wonder how that will turn out. Will she tell about where she got the drugs? Will she keep quite and hope that Gemma will tolerate her presence because of her son and the fact that she didn't tell when she could have? Or will she be to scared and keep away in fear of Gemma?

I have a feeling that the crack whore will become Gemma's bitch when she wakes up.

But I have to ask, how awesome was that axe to head scene? That scene alone made my day. As suspected, there's something among Jax's dad' belongings that Gemma doesn't want Jax to see. I doubt it was the photo she ended up burning. If it's the photo, I wonder what's the importance of it because I really didn't see anything worth hidding in that photo.

So, am I the only one still watching this?

Episode 5 aired yesterday and it was great, messed up to. Between burning flesh and the guy with the masturbation tick, it made for a fun fucked up episode. Also, Dutch from The Shield is around. He's great.

Forget everything else that happened in the episode that scene was unbelievable.Luring him back there and then asking whether he wanted knife or fire. Up until then I didn't really feel sorry for the guy but wow, and his poor mom that was his mom right. Yeah I get it he betrayed your little motorcycle gang and he was supposed to get rid of the tat but who the hell do these guys think they are.

    Yeah, that was messed up.

And no, that wasn't his mom, it was his ex-wife (but now you have me thinking). But yeah, quite a fucked up scene. I wonder if they'll have the character sticking around for some time after this, maybe with Tara healing his wounds in the hospital with the whole Jax connection. I'm hoping that by next episode Tara comes clean to Jax about the FBI dude, though I have a feeling that this is one mess that Gemma will clean up herself.

Oh right ex wife. I would love to have him stick around for awhile, maybe a revenge angle or something later on would be nice because really, that was beyond excessive. I definitely think Gemma is going to clean this up herself, him watching her son and grandson in the hospital was definitely crossing the line.

So I'm watching episode 3, and something's been bugging me. What type of accent does that AK gunseller to the Sons have? It's like on the tip of my tongue, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

    Pretty sure it's Irish.

Show has been picked up for a second season, certainly good news:

FX has decided to keep the motor of its new bad-boy biker drama Sons of Anarchy running for a second season.

The Fox 21- and FX-produced series received a 13-episode second season order Monday after only the first five episodes of its current run. During those five weeks, the newbie drama has averaged 5.4 million viewers weekly and 3.5 million adults 18-49, making it FX's most successful series since Rescue Me.

The show's success is no doubt a relief to the FX execs who are soon bidding adieu to the The Shield, the series that put the network's original programming on the map. “It’s incredibly gratifying to everyone at FX [that The Shield's] audience has embraced Sons of Anarchy and made it a success," John Landgraf, president and general Manager of FX Networks, said in a statement.

The remaining eight episodes of Son of Anarchy's first season air each Wednesday night at 10 pm/ET until Nov. 26. Are you excited for more leather-clad biker action? — Adam Bryant

I never liked him so i'm glad Jax put him out of his misery.

That ATF bitch got to feel the pain. Although you knew that he would never rat on the club. It was pretty obvious that after he got his visit he was gonna tell them to go screw themself. But i didn't see the beating coming. Also Cherry, A.K:A Rita, seems like she will be gone from the show.

I think the best part of this episode was when Stahl confronted Gemma in the store. You really got a good feel for just how good Gemma is at these mind games. All the other women got all messed up from Stahl's methods but Gemma didn't even look worried when she walked away. Also it just shows when Stahl seemed to go after every girl connected to the Sons but not Gemma. This is why i think Gemma is the best and most intresting character on SoA.

BTW do you think Oppie's wife will leave him or stay? I think she will stay. She will realize that she stayed with him for all those years before he went in when he did his business, and then for the 5 years he did time. Why would she leave now? If she has gotten through all that there should be no problem. I know people that get beat up and still don't leave their worse half because of love.

But then again i don't think she never intended to leave. I think she wanted to use the threat as a bargaining chip to make Oppie stay away from the club business, but in the end even if he didn't she would just have folded and stayed.

The stream on FX's website is some damn nice ass quality.
