As far as encodes go, I had no problem with Effort and Moredouches. There's a little bit more screen tearing with moredouches and the lines are a little less sharp, but its barely noticeable
I'm having trouble with Uncle-fails, but maybe its because this computer is getting old.
I'm encoding episode 1 right now. I'm also downloading the 371 MB file. If it turns out to be good then I'll just wait for other people to do the grunt work for me. Otherwise I'll stick with my own encodes.
x264 encoding is not cool even on a Phenom 9500.
I am downloading episode 3 now. Im looking forward to another great episode, with more development for the characters...
Did anyone here have audio sync issues with episode 2 by somedouches (2 GB one)?
Edit: episode 1 from somedouches also has the same problem for me.

Episode 01 by me. It has chapters and is based on somedouches' video and Effort's audio. I'm probably not going to do a second episode because soumedouches' episode 2 has terrible audio sync issues and I don't feel like fixing it.
Upload might be a bit slow...

You can encode H264 on the HD4800 cards from ATI, but it requires some proprietary software.
BTW, I didn't upload it on Sendspace last night because the connection was really slow for some reason. I'll try again right now.

Episode 3 was pretty awesome. So Akiyuki turns to stone automatically without the needle in him? The plot's definitely getting interesting, tying in the doctor and the captain fellow with an old military operation.
I just hate the kid.

What kid? The onboard kids? they are so annoying. I remember Renton from eureka also had problems with the ship's kid, then after a while they get along.
So it would seem that choosing akiyuki for the xam is not random. Maybe Akiyuki's father is one of the leading developers of the humanoid weapons I guess..

The action in this series is absolutely awesome. The fight in episode 2, and the aerial battle in episode 3 is nothing less than eye candy. The character development is also paced well, having developed numerous character relationships in the span of only 3 episodes. There is literally no wasted moment in this show.
I hope the captain doesn't abuse Akiyuki too much. From what she said when she shot the enemy out of the sky, it seems she is not too displeased with taking Akiyuki onboard.
Akiyuki is also quite a likable character now, because while he acts as a normal kid would act in that situation (namely confusion, distrust etc), he still managed to realize (relatively quickly, since it all happened in one episode) what he needs to do, which includes thanking Nakiami (who is by the way really hot in the boyish tsundere way) for saving him twice.

Perhaps is a way to get him thinking about what he, or Xam'd really wants. It's like when you're still in school, a lot of us are idling around, not knowing what we want to do when we get out. It's useful to actually go and find a job, and pretty much any job at that. Working non-stop like that can lead to aspirations, and if not, at least you may find out what you don't want to do.
