S2 Episode 1 - AoShen
I need to finish the first season... heard AoShen sucked ass, so I haven't bothered. Those EMiNA releases looked decent so I'm waiting for theirs, but they're only in episode 7 of the first season.
Based on this first episode AoShen still could invest into QC. Or rather should. Fortunately the series itself looked decent. Lots of blood and wickedness in the first episode is always a good sign.
What the F. I can't see the subs or turn them on, is there something different about this release?

I didn't notice anything strange about it. Maybe your player / splitter just didn't like it? Although there's no crc and I got my episode from a bot, not using the torrent, so I can't be 100% sure it's the same, but I doubt it could be a different version.
Marginally better than AoShen:
S2 Episode 1 - Nuke
S2 Episode 2 - Nuke
S2 Episode 3 - Nuke
S2 Episode 4 - Nuke
And the latest sub out, where Tsutomu no doubt did something not shown to the camera while he was at it...
S2 Episode 5 - Nuke
But since AoShen doesn't believe in QC (they are all the time recruiting translators and editors but never quality checkers, though those are what they would need the most), anything's better than them. I relaced my AoShen eps with these, and of course AoShen never released #5 anyway.
I still like this season more than the first one. The strange mix of goofiness and bloody violence continues as strong as ever, plus at least so far there has been none of the emoness that plagued the latter half of the first season.
I was wondering why people stopped watching this show as well as Kurokami (well I guess that one isn't turning out so great) I always really liked the animation of the Birdy series and also prefer this season, it better balances the humor with seriousness.
And Arita Shion is hot

I'm still watching this, but having no one to discuss it with kind of prevents me from posting anything.

S2 Episode 6 - Nuke
Hmmm I wonder if I should start watching this, I don't like the idea that the main characters share a body, but it seems like (from what I could read here) that the guy's body is being rebuild? But then again, I haven't read good things about this show in other forums, they say that the quality is getting worse and that the story doesn't move forward at all.
btw is there some love-interest between the main characters or something? Will the boy get his body again, or how does the 1st season end? Because from what I can see here it seems that season 1 and season 2 are exactly the same.
It's a good show. Watch it. The art quality is a style choice, not just schedule or low budget problems.
Peace.
There are no problems such as that. The latter half of the first season had a bit too much emoness for me, but the story was certainly progressing. What comes to this second season, I like the story even more.Originally Posted by KrayZ33
They certainly share some similarity. Tsutomu has an unfortunate tendency to get his body annihilated and so Birdy needs to host his mind in her body until a new one is built.btw is there some love-interest between the main characters or something? The first season never gave any love-interest a chance between those two, Tsutomu having somebody else filling his mind, but who knows yet about this second season. I'd hope so but I won't be expecting too much.
I think its pretty obvious that they will eventually end up as a couple, but not in these 2 seasons. The first focuses on Tsutomu, while the second focuses on Birdy. Only after that can there be an arc about the relationship between the two.

Some eps from the ever varying sources of ever varying quality available for this show:
S2 Episode 7 - PHT
S2 Episode 8 - PHT
S2 Episode 9 - PHT
S2 Episode 10 - PHT

Edit: Some really cheap graphics in ep 7. Looks like they sacrificed drawings for movement. Still, it was good enough getting the plot forward. Other than such technical aspects I can't really say a whole lot would have happened in episode 8 (7 being still Birdy flashbacks) other than at the very end. Looks like the story will again run forward starting from the next ep.

I don't really know what to think about this ending. It was highly unconclusive in many ways, and I'm not altogether happy with that. The criminals went unapprehended, aside from those Nataru slew of course, and furthermore it was established Birdy and Nataru love each other, yet Nataru jumped away, leaving that open in a manner that shouldn't allow anything between Tsutomu and Birdy even if a third season happened. And as if that wasn't enough, bloody Nagasuki (the Riunka girl) made a comeback. She has got nothing to do with anything anymore so why couldn't she just stay away... Without Riunka she hardly has anything to offer anymore anyway.
I just finished this
The first season was nice, had a little romance going on with a Romeo and Juliet ending to it all ( kinda ). Did a good job of introducing the characters and i took it as a twist of the "sudden girlfriend appearance" genre.
The OVA was more of that, added a bit of closure to the relationship.
The second season started strong, then became pretty angsty but not really in a bad way. I share Kraco's lack of enthusiasm with the ending, i already predicted who the stranger carrying Birdy would turn out to be but they never really explained WHY he jumped when he did. I guess i can assume that he recognized his present self in that suicide bombing that never was and knew he had to be there ( which is a big motherfucking paradox but i'm used to those ) but that doesn't explain why he didn't come back or even where he went after that. Birdy made it sound that he could be saved in her ship so the lack of closure just seemed off to me.
Regardless i enjoyed every but of it, i'll archive both seasons and the OVA and keep a faint hope for a third one.
