and about those saying that this filler is like the others, well you must have been smoking something pretty good. This arc is actually the best one in shippuuden so far. It's not about the story, which in this case is pretty generic. It's just way better directed than the non-filler arcs.
Just saw the eps. damn man, I'm getting sick of this why didn't they let naruto use KB training? I can understand the possibility of transforming to tails mode, but with 1000 KB naruto kept up a good amount of time before falling into it. I mean they could of have him get 12 KB and train. Sora even surpassed him in elemental training. This sucks. lol
Well, atleast the story is starting to pick up. I'm really starting to wonder what the old guy's connection with Sora is, probably because they want to use the beast inside of sora to their advantage. How far is the manga ahead of the anime? I hope the fillers end after this arc.

Didn't sora's dad die? They didn't bring the corpses to life or take their secrets yet I don't think.
Who knows. Unless they confirm a death rather than slicing it and leaving, there's no telling if it's really gone for good. Take Irene (Claymore) as an example.

Actually I agree with you Buffalobian. Asuma probably missed all of the vital organs on purpose because kazuma was a good friend of his.
Or he fell from a cliff and they just assumed he was dead or something. Supposedly dead characters coming back to life isn't all that new in anime nowadays
Awww man, I totally didn't realize there was an actual ep 63 out. But ah well. This probably guy's either Sora's dad, or some friend of Sora's dad who was also one of the feudal lord's personal guards. I can't remember if they said everyone on the side opposite asuma died, nor can I remember how many survivors there were on Asuma's side, if it was more than just Asuma and Chiriku. So, possibilities are:
1) That guy wasn't even part of the feudal lord's personal escorts.
2) That guy's Sora's dad.
3) That guy's not Sora's dad, but a survivor opposite Asuma's side.
4) That guy's not Sora's dad, but a survivor on Asuma's side who regrets how things went down.
Those are listed in order from least interesting to most interesting, somehow, the difference in my interest between one and four is barely "meh".
And, lol at drunken Yamato.
Edit: Also, I don't think this guy's Sora's dad. I can't imagine a father who'd want to get his son involved in civil war, uber power or not. The desire to protect him would just be too great.
@Archangel: The guy doesn't strike me as particularly evil. I mean sure, he has no issue wiping out a village but um...the kind of evil it takes to pull what Itachi pulled is something else entirely.
