Who do you think will acheive their dream first >Naruto or Luffy?

I've been wondering this for a while, and now I finally have a chance to to put it to the public. I was thinking about it and both are pretty much (and have been) on the same speed of achieving their goal through out their respective series. I personally believe at this rate, Naruto will become Hokage before Luffy becomes pirate king. However I only think this because I think that there are more king candidates in OP than people that have to go through Hokage. I think Kakashi would be between Naruto and Tsunade. His reign would be pretty long though. I also don't think that the next pirate king won't be caught for a long time after his achievement.

    What are your thoughts?

Personally I don't think Naruto will ever become Hokage, but I do believe Luffy will become the Pirate King. Theoretically, if both goals were to be achieved, I'd say Naruto's would be at the end of his series whereas Luffy's may happen towards the end and continue on.

There's not many similarities between the two anyway - they both have a dream and both dreams are very Shonen-ish, that's about it.

Despite the fact we have seen some formidable people in the One Piece pirates faction, becoming the pirate king doesn't actually entail much responsibility, not at least in Luffy's mind. He wants to find and reach the One Piece and considers himself the Pirate King once he does. He hasn't shown much interest in uniting the pirates to fight against the World Government, for example.

Becoming Hokage, however, means being responsible for the whole village of Konoha and much more, like defending the country against ninja attacks. Honestly, if Naruto became Hokage, either the place would be doomed or Naruto would become a puppet king with somebody else(s) doing the real decisions and Naruto only deciding how much taxes ramen places have to pay.

Thus, I also believe Naruto will never become Hokage, but Luffy will reach his dream eventually.

Ah no Naruto and Luffy aren't anywhere near the same speed when it comes to achieving their goals. Naruto has not done anything that would further his goal of becoming hokage other than talk and after Sasuke left the village he pretty much gave up on it because he thinks if he can't save Sasuke he doesn't deserve to be hokage. On the other hand every single thing Luffy does whether its intentional or not, helps him get closer to his goal of becoming king something that he has never lost focus on. Albeit Naruto is closer to his goal than Luffy but thats only because of the nature of their individuals goals and the things necessary to achieve them, in that regard I don't even see how or why anyone would compare the two.

All Naruto has to do, is do some goddamn training so that he isn't a freaking invalid and then sit on his ass and wait for the position to be handed to him.

I'll keep this thread open for the time being, but if I see even one Naruto anime spoiler or one One Piece anime spoiler, this shit is gone.

Wait....is this in context of time within the series, or time in the real world, as readers of the manga? If it's the latter....then is this the same as asking which of the two series will end first?

If so, I have the feeling that Naruto will end first. The recent One Piece content seems to imply that they might only be 50-60% through the series, if even that!

I don't think it's impossible Naruto will become Hokage. He's probably the most promising candidate at this point, despite being relatively weak. He has plenty of chakra, massive healing abilities, and can train 1,000 times faster than anybody else. By the time he reaches adulthood, he can be hella strong.

For me, what it comes down to is the fact that Oda seems about ten times as creative as Kishimoto is.

I just think that eventually, Kishimoto is gonna run out of ideas, and have to pay off the series' premise.

Oda's been going for 10 years and he isn't even half done yet.
