I was waiting for someone to comment before I did as I don't like to double post.

I liked the second episode more than the first one. As you said, Walter really makes this series what it is. He has a ton of funny moments and lines. The mystery of the week of this episode was a cool one, and I like the graphic nature of the show. Was it just a coincidence that Olivia was connected somehow through a previous case? Makes you wonder why her was chosen for this job, it seems like there's more to her than what we're being told, and I'm sure Broyles knows the reason.

    Third episode tomorrow.

I'm really wondering what part in this the GD Vice President has in all this. She was present when they took in the body of Olivia's ex-partner and scanned his brain, so it would seem like the company has a part in The Pattern. Yet, she's right with Olivia's boss in the beginning of the second episode along with a large board of people, and she's always happy to assist in the investigations if they can. I wonder where they stand it all this.

There's no way the audience can trust her, but everyone else seems to.

I was disappointing in the second episode , I'll wait the series out because I enjoyed the first episode so much but the premise for the second was meh. The special effects used to make the whole situation (the first scene) look like Aliens was stupid given what it turned out to be and the nurse screaming bloody murder was clearly for the scare factor and turned out to be bunk.

Left a bad taste in my mouth overall but like I said I'll give the series a shot because of the first episode (and I like the characters so far) but if they have more plots like this I might give it up.

I myself thought the second episode was much stronger than the first one, but whatever.

Just watched the third episode and I enjoyed it even more. There are more hints thrown in about the huge interest there's for Olivia's services for whatever reason. Looks like the reason why Peter had left the US has finally caught up to him, so hope they'll explore that storyline further soon... and I hope it's not only some crappy gambling debt. As always, Walter awesomeness embodied.

i really liked this ep too...alot more over all plot progress, though as always it raises more questions. It's nice to see the agent scott angle hasn't been abandoned yet and he's still connected to whatever's happening. It seems like they're downloading information off his brain, and the need that small disc to decode and read it. Makes you wonder what that disc is though....somehow, i can't see that DEA agent cutting open her arm and putting it in there, so im thinking it naturally develops inside a persons body somehow.

Also, it seems pretty certain that the VP of GD is involved with the pattern...i wonder if she's trying to recruit olivia to work for them in that regard.

Fringe gets a full season order:
Fans of Fringe can let out a collective sigh of relief: The suspense will continue and the mysteries just might get solved (maybe). Fox has ordered a full season of J.J. Abrams' freshman drama following a promising first few weeks, the network confirms to TVGuide.com.

Fringe's benefits to the net have been consistently good ratings since its 90-minute opener Sept. 9, with an average 10.7 million total viewers each week, landing it at the top of debut adult shows this fall.

I also just watched the latest episode, and I liked it quite a bit. That bold guy sure is interesting.

You guys think that they'll work the alien angle? or perhaps some sort of genetically advanced humans?

  8. #28
I'm pretty sure there won't be any aliens here. Genetically advanced humans? Quite possible, we've seen them already. As the title of the show suggests, they'll be pushing the limits of science in the show, but I don't think they'll go with the aliens angle. In fact, I highly doubt it.

Just started watching the first episode. Not bad.

First time I've seen anything with Joshua Jackson past 5 minutues since Dawson's Creek.

edit: The quote that woman at the Massive Whatever said sure did sound like religious propaganda. Made me think that it's an underlying tone that they're trying to show how science is bad.

edit2: Just watched Episode 4, and I guess they might really be going the alien route, sadly. The observer sure looks very alieny, and was writing in that odd language.

I think they want us to think he's an alien...but something tells me its not that simple; at least I hope its not that simple. And I really don't like the way that Olivia chick is written. She's like...really odd (Jack Daniels and dry cereal? Really? Someone lives a sad life). Otherwise, I am starting to find this show increasingly intriguing.

Anyone see the new ep? Its actually getting interesting now. I'm liking this "head John Scott" thing...

  13. #33
    Yep, I saw it...

I don't know about John's consiousness being inside Olivia. This might be a side-effect of keeping John's brain alive. And true, Olivia and him connected in the first episode, so John might be still contacting her some way.

I still wonder how the bold guy manages to be around always that something with the pattern occurs. I mean, he shouldn't have had a way of knowing that the electricity guy would lose his cool on that particular day, on that particular time in the elevator.

I really want to know more about Peter's past.

I actually think the same thing, but I didn't want to just throw shit out there. But, I think the good doctor is wrong on this one. And yea, I remember when he asked about Peter's condition...I really wanna know what that meant. And the psuedo-Magneto guy could be kinda cool. They should bring him back later all fully developed and shit.

I thought last night's episode was a good one. We learned a couple of things from Olivia's past, and they introduced another mysterious organization, and a mysterious character that will surely be around for some time haunting Olivia.

With that said, here is another viral site that may be of interest... we already know the Massive Dynamic's site:

By the way, have any of you been tracking the glyphs that appear in each episode during the commercials? Since I don't watch the show live, I can't tell what the importance of those glyphs are or in how they relate to the show.

I don't really enjoy Olivia's acting. Weakest one of the cast easily.

Been some time since there has been any discussion on this series. Right before the December break, Olivia was kidnapped. Show returned last night with what I consider one of the best episodes so far in the series. There was a ton of action, and Olivia was kicking ass left and right. It focused more in the FBI side of things instead of the usual scientific investigation with Walter and Peter, so it was a welcomed change.

This is really turning out to be an interesting show. Olivia's knife throw no jutsu was a bit unexpected, but I'm really beginning to sink my teeth into this show. It really does seem to have that JJ Abrams touch to it. There were a few curveballs too, such as that guy actually being arrested, and Olivia capping his wife in the head. I really hope there's like a 'big plan' for this show, (i.e. a definite ending). Really compelling stuff. And something tells me Olivia's sister is up to no good.

Latest episode was a good one. I like the idea of their probably being some relationship conflicts with Peter, Olivia, and the sister.... looking forward to how that will play out. I hope the sister sticks around, it gives Olivia a different setting to develop her character.

So, it was the attack of the pop-up ads the last episode. I think the message is quite clear for all the dumb fucks that like to click on them. Walter, as awesome as always though he seems to not be getting as much screen time as I would like.

Seriously, people should know not to click on shit like that by now but meh :P

And if he made the program for the sole purpose of killing people why even give them an option to avoid it?
Sure it might have started the brainmelt sequence anyway if they just closed the window, but i guess we'll never know now.

And i got the impression that they didnt really get "hooked" instantly by that stuff just that they kept looking out of curiosity untill enough seconds passed and they could'nt look away even if they wanted to.

And i think if some ad popped up and i closed it and my comp suddenly started playing some shit like that i would seriously shut it off via the powerbutton, and fast :P
