Once again you aren't reading at all, it's not about what you think a char can do, it's about what kishi thinks they can do; you might assume that shodai can do some tree shit, but kishi approves he can conjure up a giant tree to trap you in, only to explode it into a miniature atom bomb shortly after...
The oodama rasengan and the one handed huge rasengan were first show in the games as well, waaaaay before they showed up in the manga, same goes for minato placing a tag (non kunai) on you to teleport where you are. I'm sure there are more I'm really not going to list them all.

Sure there is plenty of exaggeration in the jutsu's themselves, but it's a game and it needs to be extra flashy, heck kishimoto even feels like they are doing a waaay better job than what he can show in the manga's limited medium and he loves it.
It comes down to that everything about the characters is creator approved. Don't get fucking salty just because CC2 decides to add a character you didn't want, they owe you shit.

Yeah I don't care about the pre-skip characters either, but I would really like the have current gen versions of sound 5 and such. Though I felt the different versions of naruto were kinda needed, since they are story related. Kinda like how in gundam amuro goes through gundam, reGZ and NU.
Though I did feel they could've been "costume choices" instead of actual slots; Kinda like how you could choose drunken lee in the previous games.
